A long—long Sleep—A famous—Sleep—
That makes no show for Morn—
By Stretch of Limb—or stir of Lid—
An independent One—

Was ever idleness like This?
Upon a Bank of Stone
To bask the Centuries away—
Nor once look up—for Noon?

Not many elements in this poem, I see possible alliteration in the line that says, \"By stretch of limb-or stir of lid.

Digests very uneasily, brilliant though. Shows death to be something inescapable, long, and tedious. No mention of an afterlife just being stuck, trapped in a "hut of stone". Very scary.
