it's about how children, the basis of true innocence, are much more godly than adults. Adults become materilistic and tend not to notice natural beauties such as rainbows. the seven colors of the rainbow make an allusion to the Bible, which uses the number seven mulitple times. This leads the reader to believe that Wordsworth is trying to comminucate tha nature, a holy creation, should be respected by all, but it seems in the day in age, only children can really appreciate it, due to their innocence.

From what I have learned, the line, "the child is the father of the man" relates to the fact that sometimes the child is wiser than the father, and more innocent. The author wishes to retain his childhood sense of wonder, intertwined with the innocence. Simply put, he always wants to feel joy, even as an old man, when he sees the rainbow.

This is entirely incorrect. This poem is about natures influence over man's life and the reverance and gratitude we all owe it for its daily blessings.
