On the wide level of a mountain's head,
(I knew not where, but 'twas some faery place)
Their pinions, ostrich-like, for sails outspread,
Two lovely children run an endless race,
A sister and a brother!
This far outstripped the other;
Yet ever runs she with reverted face,
And looks and listens for the boy behind:
For he, alas! is blind!
O'er rough and smooth with even step he passed,
And knows not whether he be first or last.
The brother is the present. He is running in the world that we live in with all its ups and downs while the sister is the imaginary, the dream, the future even. She can only look back at the present because that's all the foundation that we have to dream of and to imagine our future from.

I think it is the oposite, that the sister is the dreams and the brother is the real time. this is because the brother doesnt know what is coming next and he is going over rough and smooth path, meaning he has easy and hard times in his life.

.: meaning of poem :.
it's obviously a comparison between time and dreams.
the real time = sister
shes ahead of the brother(dreams)
the brother is blind because he has no clue what is to come next.
