Brooks' is trying to say that "We" all do foolish things sometimes. This poem reminded me of my rebeillous years and how i thought i was so "cool" because i left school. i Thought that brook was trying to say that "we" all grow out of our rebellious years when she says "We die soon." If kids read this and truley understood that leaving school,lerking late, and singing sin isnt so "cool", then maybe alot of thos kids will live free, without proverty and unhappiness.

Miss Brooks inpired me to go back to school. i am now 16 and going to graduate from college this year.
