    Growth

    Mood: The Usual

    Posted on 2020-05-17 02:54:11

I am averaging 2 journal entries an election so I think that's on par.

Growth is a funny word - but we can't be stagnant.

I love cringing at my old posts and poems because it means growth.

Also the deadness of this place has a new charm.

The bugs in the website make it feel like navigating in a post apocalypse.

One year, this site will officially become a relic (not just seem like one).

It is inevitable, so enjoy it

       This is a dark place-
This is not a good place to be.

There is music crawling on the wall,
and I hear it calling me

    This is a dark place-

I do not know how to edit my account anymore because I guess the site is either broken or I am an idiot. Either way, I had a birthday and I am not 23 anymore, I am 27 (like it matters).

    It is raining. Carry on.

    why stay here?

    Mood: Frustrated

This site is not what it used to be. I remember a day when I would post a writing and it would have multiple comments on it by the end of the week. Users left compliments, criticism, advice, or even just a poem of their own that was inspired by my poem.

And that would be commonplace for everyone's poetry.
It really helped my writing, as there were talented poets giving me constructive criticism.

I try to stay as giving as I was in those days, and read through all of the poetry and give my thoughts and critique. But it has become tiresome because that effort is not reciprocated, and sometimes not even acknowledged with a simple "Thank you for your thoughts on my poem".

I want to say that there are some of you who still have that old spirit, but there are less and less of you.

I grow weary of being here, because it feels like I might as well be keeping these writings in a journal. I would get the same amount of conversation. And the best part is that this "Journal" will also go unread.

After 7 years it is hard for me to let go of this old website. I'm not quite ready to do so, but I'm being thrown in that direction.

       there we sat, connecting stars
    there we were,embellishing their stories
sealing their legacies against our fate.

Someone tore an angel from her wings
she winces as it stings; composed herself to sing

and as she plays her chords the mood begins to change,
the words she used to write now seem to sound so strange

you are the taste of stale gum and spit underlying the desire to touch

like a sitcom in the background of intimate moments calling attention to the bed

       Another silly love poem
    -----------------------

    light-headed and drifting away
    impulsive elation
    now my pulse is racing
to the beat of another overdose victim
    ..and then it stops
    ...
    ...
    No!
    Not like this.

    It was the twitching.
The twitching that kept you alive
    throughout the night
and helped me find your pulse
when I couldn't find your heart
    ...
    ...
    not like this

    Hey, bud

       Some flowers never bloom
    through refusal or forgetfulness,
    they never open up

    children look upon them peculiarly
pulling the skin back to see the petals inside
wondering why it just won't blossom

    and throughout its budded days
    not a single flower
    not the most vibrant rose
    or brightest daisy
is more beautiful than their defiance.

    so hang in there, bud
