Spring At Last!
Mood: Yeay!!

Nothing makes me any happier than being outdoors when the weather turns warm. Although the weatherman tells us that we'll be headed back to normal this weekend, we have had one glorious week here in mid-Michigan with sunshine and blue skies.
I've cleaned out my flower beds to remove last year's dried debris and spent lots of time splitting perennials. Best of all, our severe winter did not damage or kill any of the plants. The tulips and hyacinths are in bloom and the flowering crab trees will be next.
Spring is such a wonderful miracle of renewal that I feel blessed just to be able to enjoy being in the great outdoors and doing what I love!

Somewhere between winter and summer lies this no man's land called Spring. My expectations and anticipations always seem to jump ahead of reality in Michigan, and I've come to look at the situation like a child wanting to grow older faster but waking each morning to the same mirror image.
Ugh---It's almost April and we have not had a warm day yet. Tonight's forecast is for another couple inches of snow. Oh, yes, we do have a few brave tulips sending shoots, our first little bits of green. I fear for these precocious harbingers for they're about to get spanked by snow for not waiting patiently until Mother Nature is finished with her boring lecture on the perils of winter's cold.
Hmmmm...I was that precocious child once, too, but fear I've become more like Mother Nature than I care to admit to myself or you! Now children, stay in line and wait your turn! -------

I opened a can of pitted, sweet dark cherries and immediately bit into the one cherry that had escaped pitting! I guess it's best to nibble rather than bite hard hoping for the best.
I'll remember that when I feel like chewing someone out. -------
