Gethsemani is the place where Jesus Christ suffered the agony and was taken prisoner by the jews. Jesus was hurried to "calvary" amid the shouts and jeers of the crwod. Calvary is the name by which we know the biblical site of Golgotha meaning, "place of the skull" where Jesus was crucified. Who would have thought that Emily was speaking about Christ, I didn't until I was given the assignment of writing an essay on "temerity" and found her poem. In further research I realized that this indeed was her intention.
