oh mother I love you
my love is brand new
can’t help your silence
you let yourself try less

for getting stuck in the seaweed
Have a job and two kids
but until second grade you couldn’t read
Mother I found your zoloft
I thought you were perfect
I was so off
Mom, you let it bleed thru
I can love you
that’s all I can do
Thanks for my life
I thought being nice was supposed to make you happy too
you cry through others’ eyes
like you cry from your own
Thanks you for taking me home
I can’t believe you’ve been driven in
you’ve been misled by the genes you were trusted with
I love you mother
how long has it been
I’ve been under my covers
thinking things through
