If you have suggestions please let me know. It’s fine to email me. |

Go for a name that fits, that conjures the image of the character in your head each time you see it in print. All we can do here is make endless suggestions until you see something or think of something that takes your fancy. |

| User | allbymylonesome | 2006-12-03 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | agreeing with others, to chooce a name you need to know who the character is, personality, where hes from, etc. i find that the names reflect on the personality and vice versa. a good name for a old but not ancient european style vampire might be Lucien... |
| User | butterfly_chi5 | 2006-10-26 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | i agree with the other posts...those names are good. but i think you should give more info. what does he look like? age? personality? if you already have a personality picked out, then you want to make sure you have a name to fit it. if hes dark and mysterious, a common name like mark wouldnt work as well. if you really want exptic names, look in baby books or online in other stories. sometime s you can make up a name. |

| User | Broncostar | 2006-08-26 | | | Subject | Try this- | | Message | Make it a common name, and don’t reveal he’s a vampire until later in the book. Your readers are sure to be shocked!
By the way, try posting it on www.blooklot.com - it’s a site where you publish chapters of your book in forum posts, and can also read "blooks," or online books, of others.
Good luck with your novel! |

| User | Aetha Daemon | 2006-07-28 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | Shalar. It is simple, it is dark, and it is somewhat exotic. Or, you could use a surreal name, like Gabriel. Vampires named Gabriel are generally dangerous, as bad as their archangel counterparts are good. |
| User | ares_nuke_1 | 2006-07-15 | | | Subject | question | | Message | we need more info in order to suggest a name. Perhaps the characters nationality? The age of the vampire. For instance i have used the name "Andrew McAllister" in a short story involving a young american vampire. The name sound believable for the character. Names listed above such as Draecan would maybe suggest an older european style vampire. I don’t know. That’s just what i see when i close my eyes

| User | chaoserver | 2006-06-26 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | My specialty is names! :)
Try:
Dracen(short and simple with a easy to pronounce ring)
Amenthor(more magestic and ancient feeling)
Those are the best choices for a general vampire, I need more info for a more specific name :) |

| User | realpoet | 2006-05-12 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | I think "Twinkle Toes" would be a good vampire name. It’s a name of familiarity.
After all, vampires have star dust all over their clothes from roaming around in the moonlight. Vampires did become familiar with their victims before that fatal kiss to the veins.

| User | SonAsylum | 2006-05-11 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | I agree with RumnMoxie you need to have the man’s story first, Where he came from when he came from and what sort of lifestyle were his parents living in. Were they dark and depressing, happy and cheerful? Is this his real name or perhaps he has changed it as the years have passed in order to fit in. I think as you think about all this stuff you will come up with side stories and stuff that will add depth to your story and perhaps help it progress through to the end.
