The whole room went quiet, as if the air had been suddenly knocked out of them. The peace that followed was that of eagerness, tranquility and excitement. You could feel the breath and heart beat of every soul in there. The hair on the back of your neck rose from the frantic yet calm aroma in the air and you could hear the rising music in your head. Amist all of this, the single beat of the drum suddendly echoed across the whole room, and in a matter of seconds an uproar of screams and motion erupted. A red illuminating light shown on stage, on the face and drum set of Rob Burdon. As if by a miracle, he started beating his drums at such a rapid speed, creating this magical sound that rushed like a tidal wave to quench the thirst of the audience. Then another light, a blue one, fell on Pheonix, who started to strum the cords of his guitar in such a harmonic tune that fit perfectly into the arms of Rob’s drumming and they ran headfirst into the ears of their people. A green light brought Brad Delson’s bass to life, that added a powerful mix of strings to a melody about to take off. A mixture of visine for the soul came from the left side of the stage, where a purple light caught Mr. Hahn spinning his turntables as if he was spilling his whole heart to the room. The crowd by now had grown about five times in size, and in an extacy of motion was drinking all of this in. The best was still to come, as two yellow lights lit each side entrance of the stage. Everyone stopped their blood flow, as Chester Bennington and Mike Shinoda took the stage. As was in their description in their jobs as fans, the voice of the audience broke the ceiling and the floor fell beneath them. Finally the melody took off as Chester’s angelic voice and the medicine in form of Mike’s words were added. You could see its wings as it took off into the skies above. |
