| User | ares_nuke_1 | | Topic | questioning attitude | | Message | I’ve been coming to this site for over two years now and have noticed one common trend amongst all of us. We all write poetry. The thing that strikes me odd is that i found this place on complete accident. What i was really looking for was a place where i could get one of my short stories published. I did find this place though, and was for the first time sorrounded by poetry. It was new to me. A topic i never thought would interest me. I started reading others’ posts, which eventually lead to me writing my own peices. I expected ridicule and harsh criticism, and what i got instead was praise and gratitude. Truly, thank you all. Now though i feel that the strength of this site is deminishing. It’s becoming less of what it used to be. We need something to keep people coming back. I was reading a post that someone wrote back to me in response to me wanting to write a book. They suggested that we should have maybe a chapter submissions page. A place dedicated strictly for story tellers. I say though if we go there why not do other stuff that would interest people. Jokes for example. All i know is this: I used to want to come to this site all the time, but nowadays i feel like i’m maybe the only member left. |

But I agree...even tho I have been on this site for a few short days...I don’t think people are interested in this as much as I thought they would be. Where I come from tho....poetry is life. So....I don’t know....lets hope things pick up.
Good writing tho... |

Publications will go ape for it, and soon we start a REAL dead poets society! |
| User | Rokhal | 2006-07-26 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | A suggestion: burning the bad poets can be very satisfying, like putting a fish head in the Human Resources office or whatever you working people fantasize about. But eventually it gets boring. |
| User | Father | 2006-07-26 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | I just signed up, i put a few things up and thought the idea of the place was interesting. But i have yet to find any poems that have challenged me or put me off or made me feel any sort of something toward anything. Seems like most of the poetry here is a result of listening to to much gothic metal. Anyhow, hopefully i’ll find some better stuff, i just really started browsing...but it’s a good chance to get critique and give it. I suggest you put all the people that are stupid-silly-or not good at being-and burn them in a ritualistic flame of good intentions while reading "The Waste Land" and "The Enormous Room" simultaniously. This may help stimulate something somewhere far off in some mind someplace.
