| User | ozymandias | | Topic | The Power of Nothing | | Message | Have you ever wanted to scream?
To scream at your own tortured life?
Look around you and take it in
Look at what matters most to you
Then at what matters most to the world
You’ll find that they don’t quite match
Where you value your children and family
The bank that holds the money to feed them
Only cares about 049652756321
And what the name and addressed attached
Think to about things in life like mail
There’s a good chance you don’t see
The mailman that brings it day after day
All those bills and letters he brings to you
Will you ever meet the people behind them
Or ever know what any of the other numbers are?
Then there’s your job
Where you’re essential
The company needs you
But they could replace you
Even faster than they hired you
To say the anonymity of life
Is not wholly terrifying to confront
Is a bald-faced, made in the moment lie
It is terrifying and should be so to anyone
There are so many people you don’t know
But you know that they control aspects of life
Terror
Of course there are solutions to the problem
But they are of course proportional to the problem
Where as the problem is radical, massive and unnerving
So it makes sense that your only hope of salvation would be
And what is that solution?
The answer that we want
But are too terrified to take
Why, fight fire with fire
Anonymity
The society you live in now
Has no care for who you are
So have no care for them in turn
Erase yourself wholly from them
Become your own society of one
Of course this is terrifying
As it very well should be
But what else can be done?
The answer is nothing
So go on fall down and despair
For the truth is that you are nothing
And it will take everything in you
To become such and do so in turn

I mean, there’s no reason to write everyone off and lump them all into the "piss off" catagory. It’s like what Stephen King calls a case of the I-Hate-Everybodies. There’s a place for everybody, if you make one for yourself. Very few handouts, these days. |

When you say "Terror", I thought that at some point, you were going to develop a pattern, and isolate another word, but it never happened. Maybe it is just your style. Write Another One! |
