 Topic  Interesting poems?
Message  I need some enlightment, this past few months I seem to be writing really crap poems (i know crap isnt a very educated word to use but...) anyway, yea, ther really dead and uninteresting not like the very first few poems I ever writ that got great comments from everyone here on the website, my work gets critiqued more now which is a good thing because it lets me know that my work is trailing off the right path, like the path I want it to head, you know how every poet wants to strive to build and recreate a new style of poetry and writing, well its like my determination to do so seems not to be working... i need some advice, like a means of enlightening my poetry again

Message  It Depends on what you want to write about next. But it looks like you need some new stimuli. If you want to write about nature the obvious thing to do is go outside and look at flowers, trees, and animals. If you want to write about something dark just go sit at a graveyard and listen to some dark music. I recomend metal, like My Chemical Romance (the first 2 albums), I AM GHOST, Aiden, Bullet For My Valentine, HIM, System of a Down, As Cities Burn, Dragonforce, Emery, 10 Years, Breaking Benjamin, August Burns Red. These may help insire you a little. Or at least you might find you like some of these bands if you don’t already listen to them.

Message  Go to the Himalayas and stay in a cave for a year. Or... do the complete opposite and be a pimpdaddy driving a Hummer with supermodels hanging off of you.

Inspiration is everywhere... it doesn’t have to be the most incredible thing. The little things etc.

Message  Sylvia Plath is one of my muses. Listening to music seems to help inspire alot of people. Maybe find some new music to listen to. Something you might not normally listen to. Also sometimes it helps to just write without nit picking everything. Just write and don’t stop; then go back later and fix things. You might write something incredible =]

 Message  T. S. Eliot.
He’s a confusing master of free-verse angst. Read some classic poets for ideas, especially poets with a style you’re unfamiliar with.
Try out a fixed form. This is, counter intuitively, fantastic for your creativity, and it’s good training for free verse, too.
Try a game. One I’ve had great results with is those word-list poem challenges on the writing games forum. They break the ice, then you’ll start associating the words into something coherent, that might surprise you with how original it is.
