Welcome to project textbender. We are developing recombinant text -- a new medium of collaborative design and composition.

TOUR OF THE PROJECT

Out back, you can see blue skies:

Extending to the horizon are green fields, and a runway on firm ground:

And here on the shop floor, we have our latest machine. (Pardon the clutter.)
It’s not quite ready, but you can have a look. Or even climb in
(watch your step), and try out the controls:

OPPORTUNITIES

If our project interests you, here are some suggested opportunities:

Artist, Test Pilot

Fly the machine, work the medium. As an artist, you may see other opportunities for the medium; but here we suggest the job of ’test pilot’. In fairness, we have to warn that this job will be difficult, and often frustrating. Test pilots will quickly discover many design problems and technical glitches; and then have to wait as we work through them, one by one. Most artists will prefer to let the project mature further, on its own.

However, early involvement does have advantages. Not least is the chance to lead, both in the design of a new medium, and in the creation of a new form of art. Chances like that are rare. And it is no exaggeration, no empty promise, to say that artists will lead the design of this medium...

(Should I keep the ’flying’ metaphor? Or ditch it, and just say it straight?)
