| User | Inducted_Kitty | | Topic | shiny things | | Message | can someone please tell me what the heck shiny things are???? i have only been here for four days and i have almost 600 of these blasted things...i don’t know if they are good or bad! I don’t have a clue what they are, but mine keep growing and growing...and while i’m at it, my classification went from commoner to veteran to elite very quickly. What does that mean? I don’t know if it is a compliment or an insult...you have to excuse my ignorance and rantings, but I have searched for an answer on site, but can’t find it. Oh yeah, another thing (I know-I’m whining) how the heck can you install your own pic instead one of the avatars offered? Not that I don’t like ’em, I just wanted to put my own pic in there if it is going to be my ever-present avatar... Sorry for whining so much, but I am F R U S T E R A T E D ! ! |

| User | besodemuerte | 2005-08-08 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | i’m gonna add to that upload pic thingy... if you use a program like photobucket to shrink the file size of your pic (which is what i always have to do otherwise it wont work).. you have to go to your accounts page and click edit um... uh.... maybe profile or something.. i forget what it’s called but it’s the one you click to change your quote or your name and stuff... when you get there, copy and paste the url into the part after where it says pic... then update ... and it should work... |

I’ll assume you have a PC, not a MAC. I don’t know if it’ll make a difference, but it should be about the same.
To upload your own page pic:
Sign in.
On the Account Page, the profile options are on the upper right hand corner of the center section, under the search engine buttons. Click "Upload an Icon."
Click "Browse," and a window will pop up displaying files (probably pictures) on your computer. Find the image you want to use, and be sure the file name says ".jpg" or ".jpeg" on the end. Elite Skills only displays JPG format.
(You can change the format in an image editing program like Photoshop or Paint. The option is under "save as." You might also want to shrink the image to 83 by 83 pixels, so it looks right in the tiny window, or you could leave it big and endure the distortion the site causes when it fits it to the tiny box so you have a nice big image when someone views your poems.)
Doubleclick on the image, or select it and then click "open." The filename for your image should appear on the text box on the Upload Icon page.
Click "Upload." |
