 Topic  Stupid Gammer
Message  Okay, I have a grammer quesitons. It’s pretty small and insignificant but it’s one of those little questions that have been gnawing at me. When do you use "nor" and when do you use "or"??!?!?!?!

Message  I think the reason why english is so difficult is because has influences from so many other languauages: fench, spanish, greek, etc. and it’s all jumbled together. A haphazard little compilation, I suppose...

Message  It’s that way, Rubi, because you know what you want it to be and your brain is processing that knowledge and tricking your eyes with it. "See, it’s right there!" only it really isn’t. mae

 Message  English is the worst!
I speak 2 languages and sometimes my brain freezes and I can’t remember how to punctuate...or where I was going with the sentence and I only remember the rules for Spanish...
and the things that always gets me are ‘to’ and ‘too’...
and its seems it’s only my work I miss things in...
I can catch a grammatical error in somebody else work in a heartbeat...but I can read my work a thousand times over and miss it...
I wonder why that it?

Message  And then there’s the thing with defense/defence. When do you use which? Are they interchangable?

And "effect" and "affect". I’m pretty sure you use "affect" as a verb and "effect" as a noun, but I can’t be sure....

Message  God, english can be tricky. I’ve spoken and written it all my life and I still catch myself with the occasional "which one is it?"
or like when people pronounce the same word differently. Are both correct? Is one more common than the other?
Or better yet, words that derive from french such as fiance(e), blond(e), colo(u)r, etc. Not to mention the whole R and E switch thing, such as theatre/theater, center/centre. AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! They’re all correct!
*frustration*

Message  Don’t see how shagging is odd, as "walking" is a continuous movement yet a particular act, as is crying or wanking...
Sheep... because one is as good as twenty; there’s no difference at all between the two.
Shoes: "s" signifies more than one...
And it’s "crunchiness" if anything :P (in the middle of a word, the "y" is converted to "i".)

Message  Nope. "R" was right... except "grammar has two "r"s, and two "a"s, and no "e"s.

Grammar. Not; "Gammer".

Message  i think wolfstar meant "Grammar" has an A in it... typos...

Message  You use "or" when you use "either" (example: You are either man OR beast.) You use "nor" when you use "neither" (example: She is neither short NOR tall.) Kind of confusing, I know.

By the way: your title is spelled incorrectly. "Grammar" has an R in it.
