| User | charmedidentity | | Topic | Sweet 16? | | Message | My 16th birthday passed like a year ago. When i was smaller, i heard a lot of talk about sweet 16. And when that time came, i still wondered what it was. Now that i am 17, i am still wondering. I going to be 18 soon (next six months....lol) and still i am wondering what is sweet 16
So if any of you have the answer to this question, i’d be grateful.
What is sweet 16? |

| User | FrankBlissett | 2006-02-11 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | when I was growing up, a "Sweet 16" party (which was almost non-existant even by then) was a birthday party. Specificly, it was considered a "coming-of-age" type of thing where everyone kind of admits that the little girl is now a young woman.
Think of it as a much more informal version of a barmitzva.

But I don’t know what sixteen was all about. I was homeschooled, so I missed the whole prom thing. |

Do you know anyone that fits that description? It harks back to a more innocent time when children were children longer and sex outside marriage was considered scandalous. mae |
