| User | WolfStar | 2005-07-14 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | When you say, "I’ve never gotten into a car accident --knock on wood" It’s something you say when you don’t want whatever you just said to happen to you (because you know that when you say things they have a habit of happening to you), and most of the time the person physically knocks on a wooden table/desk/whatever. It must have some kind of cultural/traditional origin I’m sure.
