Some of them are (or used to be) the leaders on the site and everyone wants to comment on their writing and some are just plain good and everyone wants to read what they’ve written. By and large, however, if you want more comments, you’ve got to give more comments. I haven’t looked at your ratios, but if you comment on the writing of some of the more established authors on ES, they will usually return the favor.
That seems to be a hard lesson for some people to learn. Many of the younger writers just whine and complain that they don’t get comments, but they also don’t GIVE comments. It really does work to give comments first. mae |

Well, I wouldn’t put it in those terms exactly-LoL-but I understand what you are saying. I’ve read on here how people get 9-15 comments per entry, but everything I’ve read (and submitted) was lucky to get just one. This seems like a really nice site.... it’d be nice to see it "brought to life". :) |
