| User | Psychopathic_na | | Topic | Need URGENT Help! | | Message | Okay... to sum it up. My mother (annoyingly) sent one of my poems via E-mail to a firm called, International Society Of Poets. (my mother sent in one of my first poems, ’
’Messenger’’, She sent it in with HORRIFIC spelling mistakes and grammar faults.)
Now they sent me a letter stating that i have been nominated for Poet of the Year 2007. They want me to fly down to vagas and stay in one of theire wonderfull hotels. I know this is a con but my mom is urging me to send more poems in.... Can someone PLEASE confirm this as a HOAX?
Further Information: International Society of Poets,
Steven J. Michaels(Chairman)
Dr. Len Roberta, Ph.D. (Chairman)
Address, 1 Poetry Plazza, Owings Mills, Maryland 21117-6282
(410)356-2000
Heres the catch:
’Our host hotel, the world famous Riviera Hotel and Cosino, has offered our members an unbelievable discount off theire published rates while rooms last’.
I know this is a scam, but i would be gratefull if someone can confirm that it is.

Just get your mother to go on the net with you and Google the keywords "Society of Poets" and "scam" and voila, a thousand hatemail-type pages/blogs denouncing this scum-sucking corporation.
Also, I think they’ll ask you for money... any non-vanity publisher would never do that; in fact, it’s THEM that should be paying you, not the other way around.
Hope this helps. |
