 Topic  just wondering...
Message  I’m curious. What is everyone’s view on what love is? I have loose ideas of what I thought I knew it was but now...I’m a little uncertain. I’m not just asking for everyone’s definition of romance. I believe romance and true love are two totally different things, even if they do, at times, go hand in hand...I’m just asking for some people’s opinions on the definition of love. In any form. I’m curious to see what other people’s views are on the matter.

 Subject  wtf am I on?
Message  I captured her in the wilderness. She gave me those pouty eyes and I said "hush, I am not a poacher". When she relaxed in my arms, I took her to a midnight village and presented her to the chieftain.

"And who may she be?" he asked.

"I found her lurking in my heart." I replied.

"Well that won’t do at all. No one lurks in someone else’s heart unless they first get love struck"

"I know. That’s why I’m worried. I don’t know her at all"

"Maybe you should get to know her, my son."

"Possibly. But what will I become?"

"I don’t know. You may never find your way back."

I pointed to the stars and asked him to show me the way.

"No, that’s not it." he said. He moved my finger to her heart. "This is where you must go."

And so I did.

Message  Love cannot be explained. If it could be not so many people would be so miserable over it.

Message  Thank you...that’s exactly what I was asking...and I would agree that I Corinthians 13 is a perfect example of what true love is.

 Subject  Friendship.
Message  Love is undying friendship. You can fight, and five minutes later go for coffee and not even care that you fought. It is a starry eyed stare and a warm smile. A hug, and glance, a desire, and a need. It is the thing that drives us. It is universal, and the composition of it.

I believe it is in the book Corinthians that we find a good definition. Chapter 13, some odd numbers.

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."

... How do gay people have more capacity for love than heterosexuals? Myself, I find that when I am in love I am utterly devoted in every way. Not obsessed or anything, but ... happy. We are all humans, and thus capable of an equal amount of love. Despite sexuality.
I have a bisexual friend, and she loves just as passionately as I, a heterosexual male, do.

We all pursue love because it is our goal in life. Whether you are religious or not, our beliefs have ’Love’ at it’s center. Love of God, or love of a mate, love of a child... it’s all the same thing - Love. It makes us human.

Thats just my opinions on it.

Message  that’s a bit of a universal statement though, isn’t it? how can you prove that no one has ever known true love? if you prove that to me, then i’d be willing to agree that it does not exist...

Message  maybe because it’s a goal you will never reach. Like happiness. We try to reach it even though we know we will never get it.

Message  i have to agree with that statement. my sister couldn’t fall in love with any guy for the longest time...and then she met her girlfriend and that changed in no time...not only did her struggles with depression decrease because of the love she had found in her girlfriend, but her outspoken cynicism about love basically disappeared...but still, that’s all just romantic love. what about the love of a parent, devotion to religion, acceptance, and all the other things love takes form in...? i hate to think that all that love is is an often temporary euphoric feeling one feels for their significant other. especially since, it would seem, the main pursuit of most humans is love in any form...whether they know what it is or that they are pursuing it in the first place...what is love? why do humans often make it their goal in life to have it at all times?

Message  love, I would say, is when two people like eachother for reasons unknown, or unexplainable. You feel right with the person, they complete you. Also, love is not restricted to only straight people. Gay people have the same amount of, if not more, love than anyone else.
