Message	and there’s no reason why we still can’t. i have difficulty accpeting criticism sometimes and i have to get over that too, but you have to understand that for you to come at hip-hop like you did was like as if you had tried to talk shit about my wife. THAT’S HOW DEEP THIS SHIT GOES FOR ME. i am srry if i offended you and i know i could’ve been more cordial about it, but understad that i did it out of love for what i do. i wouldn’t have cared what you said if i didn’t absolutely love poetry. for whatever its worth, i apologize for any stress and please, read my poetry. lol.

Message	hmm....i have come accross some good views, arguable views and i think now i seee that maybe i am just another idiot that is blinded only by the vulgar and degrading so much that i cannot see the good that resides in everything. it just seems to me that everytime i put it on Mtv all i see is soft-core porn and completely pornographic lyrics. and if that isn’t it i see like the real world or something, but that’s not the point, the point is that maybe people refuse to believe that it is poetic genius at times because of the way the dress. i mean look at it it is basically soft core porn!!! but i guess i should conceed defeat and go home. i know that i was wrong in many views but i will not agree to being totally wrong. and by the way aknahlij_d 1, i NEVER said that i thought it was all bad maybe you should review my words. buy whatever it was that made you so angry, i apologize for i never meant to upset or offend you i was simply voicing an opinion andi’m sorry you took it the wrong way. rock has had the same affect on my life as hip hop/rap has had on yours. so to each his own, friend, to each his own. i’ll accept your opinion if you accept mine. maybe under different circumstances we could have been friends. Message	Hip hop lyrics are words from the street. It’s urban poetry. Take out the rappers just bitchin’ and cussin’ and there’s a lot of underground stuff that is great. Most of it has a political edge, or it’s a voice of poverty struggling to be heard. I get sick of all the up themselves writers that cannot see it. It’s so evident. I love all forms of music. I couldn’t rap to save myself but I still like listening to it. I play guitar, write my own lyrics, sing my own songs, perform... does this make me and my work any better or of more merit than a hip hop artist? Not at all. I wish people would just accept things even if they don’t like it. It’s called tolerance and appreciation. It’s not shit as misty of moon wrote, it’s ust something you’re not familiar with or don’t have a taste for. Well, that was my rant.. I’m outta here...

Message	Rhythm and rhyme are the basis of rap. How could you say it’s not poetry? Look at Def Poetry Jam. Their words flow. They bring the story to life with the rhythm of their words. What you’re seeing on the TV--the Game and 50 Cent and MIKE JONES-JONES-JONES...yes. As much as I hate to admit it, yes, they are poets. It just happens that they never wanna write about anything good. They’ve spend so much of their life being penniless and down, now that they have money that wanna proclaim it from the highest mountains, show off their guns/jewels/hoes, and live it up. That’s why I don’t consider them in my mind to be real poets. They’re poets without substance. Rap artists like Kanye, Missy, Jay-Z, and the Def Poets...now THOSE are poets with substance! I wish you all would give the GOOD rappers a chance, instead of falling victim to crap rappers and ignoring all the rest.

Message	Def Poetry is what its called. it saved my life from the blandness of depression. honest to god the way those people go up there and perform their poetry. poetry which would otherwise be words on a paper. they brought poetry to life for me and i owe every bit of gratitude to the rappers/poets/emcees/writers on that show that i do to Poe or Whitman or Dickinson. tune in fridays. BEAST

Message	Look at the definition a]of a poem.--a composition in verse, esp. a highly developed, imahinative one.--that was the random house ditionary.the websters dictionary says this---1-a composition in verse.2-a piece of poetry communicating to the reader the sense of a complete experience. Now the definition says what? And a rap is what? A rap is a composition in verse. People get confused because of the beat, and they get angry because of the words on occasion. I to get angry at some of the rappers today-they are too commercial. I like to rhyme/flow/rap because of the benefit I get from it. I just plain and simple love to do it. I love to write poetry.-------If you go to a poetry reading, it is just like going to a concert without beats. You can check out the poetry reading they have on HBO--it is like a hip-hop poetry reading. That might help you understand.

Message	I like to rhyme/flow/rap... it is fun, it helps me with my things such as my writing, my rhyming, and, poetry too. I believe it is poetry. As ~nalij said the ganster rap is crap. But if you then bring up battling that is different to an extent, it allows you to expand the boundries. Some people take it too serious. But I like to flow.

Message	there are probably so many diffrent types of rock due to the simple fact of what you grew up on, what inspired you, or and this is with most darker gothic metal, where you are from, some of my all-time favorite bands are either from scandinavia or not the u.s.

Message	it depends on what you listen to, since alot of emcees(rappers) jsut recite their poetry to a beat. if you’re talking about the gangta rappers n shit like that, then no, that’s shit. you gotta be more specific. nothing is jsut what its called anymore. can you tell me why theres so many types of rock.
