I fell for everything short of spending my hard earned mony for one of their phony books. I was lucky and found out about the trick from a website that exposes poetry scams on the Internet. If you don’t know what Poetry.com is, this site also features an expose on the scam; I’d also suggest looking up "Wergle Flomp" on any search engine; the site the holds this contest gives a great list of warning signs for a scam contest. |

What made me realize it was a scam was my grandmother’s reaction to me becoming a semi-finalist: "What!? No money?? Those #&*@!^% are supposed to pay you not the other way around!!"

i almost headed to the convention and i actually did buy their "professionally read" poem CD - it absolutely sucks....
yeah i am a sucker, but paid for it... so FUCK POETRY.com
