 Topic  Enders Game
Message  okay, my girls just discovered the Ender’s Game series like, last year...and they really love the author that wrote it, Orson Scott Card. i like his work, because he writes about philosophy, ethics, and political sciences in layman’s terms and these are subjects that the kids just aren’t getting to study in school anymore (thanks, bush for your no child left behind scam...oh, sorry, was that out loud?)...
neway, who else enjoys this author?

Message  my favorite OSC work= "ENDER"S SHADOW". card is so good at connecting every aspect of life to his characters. reading the reflectons of children with such intellect and unique insghts is pretty cool. i wish my brain thought like that!

Message  Loved Ender’s Game but his best was Enchantment. A wonderful fairy tale like story just should not miss. Songmaster wasn’t bad but hard to read and very bloody and violent, lots of death and torture.

Message  I do. It’s unusual to find a male SF author who has Card’s insight into the relationships and connections between people (female SF authors tend to focus on nothing but...)

I particularly enjoyed his series on Alvin the Maker - very good fantasy-type alternate history. I do find that it’s difficult to read too many of OSC’s books back-to-back. I enter a strange place I call Orsonspace. I begin to fanticize that there are actually silver strings connecting me to other people and I begin to run about town brandishing a pair of very sharp scissors, a danger to myself and others.
