 Topic  sleep paraliysis
Message   I recently had an experience with sleep paralysis. As I woke from an unpleasant dream, I struggled to open my eyes. I could see what was actually in front of me, but it was like I was asleep with my eyes open. I couldn’t move, and I struggled to wake up. As I watched, a strange, clear round thing flew across my vision in an arch. Like a floater, but more sinister. I forced myself awake, and you know how you wake from a dream and have the witness of reality that you are really awake; but then it started to happen again! I forced myself awake again, and I woke and told my sister about it. she told me that earlier she had been scared by our border collie, Maxie, when he stared across the two doored bathroom and into our dads empty room; he made a frightening, distressed, moaning sound. Guess what it was I was staring at during the sleep paralysis? Dad’s room! It is right across from where I sleep. I saw for myself as Maxie acted distinctly like he saw something he wanted to attack to protect us from. We all moved into the same room that early morning. And we turned the light on in dad’s room and left it on for awhile, by dad’s orders. Any thoughts on this? Have you had a similar experience with sleep paralysis?

Message  Yes, I have a few times... and it scared the hell out of me. I researched it and it’s either one of two things: sleep paralysis like you said, which mostly involves having some body part stuck underneath you weird... where you kinda wake up because your mind is aware of it, yet your motor skills are still turned off, hence the paralysis part. The second options: ghosts, demons, spirits etc near you or trying to possess you. Weird stuff huh?

Message  Sleep is over-rated! kinda like eating; i only do it when i get weak or dizzy. besides, the hallucinations are alot cheaper and more entertaining than weed, or some other drug

Message  I expect hallucinations in sleep paralsis are just dreams or something. A while back I suffered the hallucination side of sleep paralysis, yet was perfectly capable of moving. I didn’t see anything as such, but got a strong sense of someone evil standing close by and heard a few strange noises. But I bet that was just due to being really tired and part of my mind had switched off and started dreaming already. Heehee I love lingering between awake and asleep, sometimes it’s scary at the time it’s occouring, but after it’s funny to think about.

Message  Well, I could understand why you would want some danger to spice up life, but I don’t think you would really enjoy that kind of experience. There is no thrill involved, only a disturbing creeped out kind of spookiness. Don’t think that i’m a nut job, but I think that these kind of things are connected to demonic interference with our sleep. We are in a vulnerable, hypnotic state and are open to attack. there is a sleep mechanism that impairs our muscle movement during REM sleep, which prevents us from acting out our dreams and hurting ourselves; sometimes, when we wake up, the brain temporarily fails to turn off this mechanism, giving us the feeling of being paralyzed. But that doesn’t explain the other aspects of sleep paralysis, such as the apparent hallucinations. I think that demonics can interfere with our neurological functioning, which is why possessed people sometimes have seizures. That is also why they can influence our dreams. Demons are real beings and can influence our physical bodies.

I think that there are such a thing as real OBEs, and most are dangerous. Some people are actually taken up to heaven, though, and while the spirit is gone an angel guards the body, so these are safe.

And don’t worry about your life being boring, Seele, living in this world, you will have your share of adventures, I’m sure.

Message  i know exactly what you mean. they say that everyone will experience speep paralysis at least once in their life and those who do suffer supposedly only have one or two episodes a year. twice a week, i suffer at least twice a weak and often i’ll fight off the first only to be taken by a second. and the thing about your dad’s room and everything happens to me alot. i think it has t odo with our brain warning us about something sinister and very critical to the flow of life. 6 months ago i suffered a sleep episode in which my room was filled with filthy hostpital instruments and a doctor with the head of a demon. my back began to ache with such pain i thought i was seriously going to die.

a week later my dad went into the hospital for back surgery.

things are not what we think they are, and things like sleep paralysis only prove that they aren’t.

i have many accounts of sleep paralysis that i have experienced. if you are interested in hearing more from me PM me.

Bet wishes,

Message  I do want to experience it, so nah! My life is too boring. It could do with a bit of danger and fear.
And yeah, I know your experience was a mild one. My friend saw the devil comming to take her to hell once.
Oh, and whether OBEs are dangerous depends on what you believe really. If you think it’s just some cool dream, then no not really. Well, about as dangerous as normal dreaming. If you believe your soul actually leaves you body then, maybe. Some say that your body can be inhabited by ’deamons’, or something.
I’ll need to do reserch to conclude my own opinion on which I believe, but either way it still sounds cool.

Message  Um...trust me, you do not want to experience it; my experience was actually a mild one; there are many accounts from a long time ago of terrifying experiences. some people wake to a very real hallucination of an old woman or a monster sitting on their chest, and they feel like their are bands holding them down; sometimes an alien encounter in their bedroom coincides with sleep paralysis. And out of body experiences, in my opinion, can be very dangerous; at least most of them can.

Message  I’ve never experienced sleep paralysis. I want to though. Okay, I’d probably hate it when it’s actually happening, but I just want to see what it’s like for myself. Also, you can have OBE (Out of body experience) dreams during sleep paralysis, which sound soooo cool!
