| User | HWKI | | Topic | Music | | Message | What kind of music sees repetitive play in your CD players? I know I get a lot of inspiration from music. Some of my favorite groups are
TOOL
Otep
Pink Floyd
Metallica (and I like it all, so sue me)
Nine Inch Nails
Johnny Cash
and a bunch of others, but these are my favorites, as far as writing while listening to it. Of course, don’t ask me how I can write and listen to NIN at the same time, that ones beyond me, too. |

It’s a shame that people want to be i hiphop when it’s just, what is hip hop? you know? it’s not music! it’s a condecending insult to music, and women! it’s true! the prtrait they paint of women is they are bitches and hoes. I hear people all the time going " oh my God! [hip hop guy] is the greatest!!? no, jimmy hendrix is the greatest Pink Floyd is the greatest Slayer is the greatest ROCK at all is the greatest(with exceptions)!!! There are a few exceptions to hip hop too though, such as eminem and i used to listen to a few usher songs but other than that not much is music at all just crude vulgarity in a ual sense. so, that’s my rant of the day. Before i forget *awesome slipknot song* thanks for the love on the fact that i had Steve Vai on my list(and the first part too) and as for Joe Satriani, i have heard OF him but have been unable to obtain any of his stuff :(
the talkative one,

Rock on, Misty! (Throws up the evil horns)
It’s good to hear alot of the support I see for rock music in this forum (though if you listen to hip hop, or country, or anything, don’t stop from from posting it, I like to sample into those every now and then, too), especially in light of an article I read in this months issue of Rolling Stone titled "Rock Radio No Longer Rolling", in which they state that the audience for rock radio has declined by twenty percent in the last six years. As a result of this, a Philadelphia rock station, Y100 ended its twelve year life with Pearl Jam’s "Alive", and moments later became a hip hop station called The Beat. Apparantly this trend is happening across the country as more and more of the younger demographic is switching its taste more toward Hip hop, R&B (which I really don’t mind, in most cases. Alicia Keyes for example, or Shady Aftermath, or David Banner) and Pop (which I completely loathe. Burn in Hell Lindsay Lohan, just don’t burn that pretty face of yours too badly before I get there, MUAHAHA!) Okay, enough male piggyness. Metal heads, UNITE!

By the way, I noticed Steve Vai on your list. Bad@$$. You should check out Joe Satriani, if you haven’t already. |

| User | misty_of_moon | 2005-03-28 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | wow, morbid misery excellent taste in music i applaude you. you too theologian i want the new qotsa cd too, but alas i’m extremly underprivledged! and to juliets dagger, i’m the same way, i have list upon list of awesome music that no one knows or appreciates, i can be sitting with my friends talking about music and say yeah i like this band [insert band] and everyone will ask who it is. i don’t really like it because these musicians deserve to be heard but they aren’t and i don’t think that’s fair. any way, i listen to just about everything too but i really really just absolutely despise rap hip hop whatever it’s called and most "pop" music because there are some bands that they classify pop when really they’re rock but yeah, that’s me over-talking! so for my new top 10(and it’s 10 this time):
Children of bodom (something wild)
mudvayne(the end of all things to come)
slipknot(vol. 3)
steve vai (this guy is amazing with the guitar! seriously! i just got his new cd and its awesome!)
Nine inch nails (burned disk from all albums, i think)
HIM (love metal and razorblade romance)
the used( in love and )
Diecast (tearing down your blue skies)
shadows fall (the war within)
chevelle [this type of thinking(could do us in)]
rock on completely my friends
because rock will never die(and if it does then dammit i’ll ressurect it)

| User | The Theologian | 2005-03-27 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | Nightwish. Bad ass. I just found one of their CDs, Once, today, at the Marine Corps. Exchange of all places. Oh, and I picked up the new Queens of the Stoneage as well. Both are pretty good. |
