| User | Memphis | | Topic | Comments on Comments | | Message | So something that I’ve noticed that for some reason rubs me the wrong way is when I see people commenting on a comment that another user has left on a posted piece. I find that it takes away from the actual point of giving someone your unique perspective on what he or she may have written. Comments such as "Well I think so and so is wrong about this" just really put me off. How do you guys feel about this? Am I just wierd or does anyone share the same feelings? |

| User | Sanny | 2005-05-16 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | I remember I got a PM from a user about a comment I had left on someone else’s poem. It was a fair comment, but this person wanted to tell me how disturbed they were at my comment.... I remember wondering what was more disturbing at the time...My comment or his PM.

If it’s mentioned only once, it could just be a difference in style - especially if the suggestion just doesn’t appeal to me or I don’t see it. But when two or more people make the same basic comment, well there’s most likely something to it. mae |
| User | Vancrown | 2005-05-02 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | There are times for me when I receive a comment from someone expressing an idea or suggesting a change . . . and I take it for what it is and do nothing, but then, a second person agrees, and suddenly . . . that gets my attention. Often if there is even this much of a concensus, I’ll take a long hard look at the suggested change, and do what I can to fix it. This has been invaluable for me . . . when considering rewrites/edits. Thanks for listening . . . |
| User | cuddledumplin | 2005-04-23 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | I agree with Cat. Some people are just rude, and if I don’t agree, I’m going to say something. Sometimes I do agree with someone else about a point too. I do try to add my own personal perspective though. |

Don’t let something like that bother you. It jus’ ain’t woith it, hon’. Now, when people start going ballistic when you give them a bad review, that’s when you should start getting’ bugged! I mean, really...!mae |
| User | secret moon | 2005-02-16 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | Sometimes, if someone leaves a really mean comment on someone’s work, then I will sort of try to smooth over their feelings... "Don’t listen to what ____ said, this poem isn’t hopeless, it just needs a little work" sort of things. Those are about the only ones that I will comment on, and from there I usually go on to explain what can be done to get the poem up and running at optimum level.

The kind of comments that bug me are the ones that start
"Thank you for commenting on my piece "Insert Title Here". I think your poem was really cool. I liked the "superficiality/pleasantry/blah" Please stop by and comment again soon!"
Yeah, they’re a bitch... |
| User | besodemuerte | 2005-01-26 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | i sometimes say something about another comment if it’s in agreement with it so i’m not just typing the same thing someone else already pointed out, or if htere was soem sort of type error or soemthing that needs fixing cause i think if it gets pointed out a bunch, maybe it will get fixed... |
| User | magnicat | 2005-01-25 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | sometimes i will respond to a previous comment if it is totally rude or uncalled for. most of the time, though, i try not to read other’s comments because i don’t want to be colored by what they have to say. |
