Some people may want to check that what they said was posted before moving back. Either way it promotes interactivity as they will have a second look at the page without the intention of only giving a reply. Thanks for the reply though. Let me know if you have anymore ideas on how to make things more convenient. |

| User | Webmaster | 2004-04-14 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | Ummm... Just click the "back" button on your browser or backspace to go to the page you were in. There’s a link to "your page" and the "submissions" page in on the right bar if you wish to get back to those.
The coding to move from one page to another is a JIT(just in time) compiler called php. You can’t view the php just by viewing the source. The site you posted the html to probably uses a similar process. Most people like to see that the thing was posted and check reread anyway. I think that hitting backspace is just about the same thing after you ensure that the note was posted. |
| User | Emerging Soul | 2004-04-14 | | | Subject | The Layout | | Message | The only thing that I find frustrating in your layout is when posting responses to submitted pieces and comments by others we are not returned to the previous page automatically but rather are "stuck" on that person’s page and their last post (I think it’s the last post, anyway...)
I don’t know if this would help, but I went to a poetry forum that I no longer post in...hardly anyone does anymore...but the set-up was terrific and easy to use. So I viewed the source formats for a random date back in 2002 and copied them here for your reference on how they set it up.
The first set is the "main" posting page where you can choose to submit a poem or read another person’s submittal.
The second set is the submittal page.
The third set is reading the other post and how it returns the reader to the main page if they click on "return to top level posts"
The last set is how posting a response gets re-directed back to the page where you read the poem.

As I said, hardly anyone posts there anymore...a couple of years ago, however, there were hundreds of posts a day, and good ones for the most part. Now it’s pretty much been abandoned by anyone that wants to post anything serious, but I still think the set-up is really good and easy to work within. Maybe there’s something here you can use, maybe not. It’s just a suggestion...

I dunno if I want to try a grundge look for the title but I am considering changing the mountains pic. The reason is just to inspire creativity. If I really wanted to make it like alot of the poetry here(not counting of recent) I’d draw a dude hanging himself(hehe, move the space to elites kill). I really liked that caffine kitty picture =). I’ll be working on it, I’ve been doing alot of advertising and stuff but internet advertising works slow =/. |
