| User | Sandburg | | Topic | Rules for Newbies? | | Message | It seems that a new member can only receive two comments until they start to comment on some of the other members’ work. That makes sense, but what I wondered is, why did a new member get to post eleven new poems today?
If they can’t receive comments, why are the able to continue to post work?
Just wondered if there was a glitch. |

| User | WolfStar | 2005-04-05 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | Actually, when I’m commenting this is what I do:
I search for all those poems one or two pages back that have 0 comments and comment on those. It’s so sad when you see a poem that has like 20 views but not a single comment... I know what it’s like : ( |
| User | Areinaka | 2005-04-04 | | | Subject | Bothered | | Message | The thing about only being able to post one poem per day is the fact that I have tons written down that I want to put on here. I hate how the pieces overload the elite posts page... When i’m on, though, hardly anyone is on. So, I don’t get to post much. I love to comment though! |
| User | arkay | 2004-12-24 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | The big problem, as I see it, with anyone posting so many poems is that it drives the worthwhile stuff off the front page before you have a chance to read it. And I, sadly, like so many others, have an aversion about going to the next page. One suggestion that I might make is that everyone be limited to one poem a day. That way, possibly, the quality of posts would increase as if you can only put one up you might spend more time with the structure and content, and it would slow down the flow on the front page giving the readers adequate time to read everything new. Now that there are so many members and they all stick up two, sometimes three, usually with very little content value, it gets to be a real bore to read and even harder to comment on. Maybe something to think about. |
| User | eener | 2004-12-20 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | I saw one person either today or yesterday with 7 new posts, and this user was 1 day old. But then again, the amount given was more than the amount received, so in this case, it’s not bad. I was just kind of shocked by that for a moment. |
| User | Learah | 2004-12-19 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | How can newbies post four new poems on their first day? Four Seperate Poems. Not clicking "submit" a million times... |
| User | Webmaster | 2004-12-10 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | It’s good to have people checking the newbie stats and the stats of the people in general before giving their comment. People usually give comments in the style they want to recieve them. It’s a good indicator of how serious the writer is and how they may react to a long, negative, or nitpicking critique. |
| User | Sandburg | 2004-12-08 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | So Jimmy, if I see someone doing this, posting one comment to one of their poems will lock them out until they at least start to comment on other peoples work? That’s good to know. Thanks,
Dave |
| User | JimweiZERO | 2004-12-07 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | Well, I can answer that one, Dave. In order to submit something your reciprocation has to be 80% or something around that. So, technically, if you haven’t commented, you have no ratio. So as long as you don’t get comments, because your ratio is yet to exist, you can post as much as they want. But they’re bound to get a comment eventually, and then it all goes back again.
They can only get two comments anyway, so what is the point on posting a load at once when you can only get two comments on all of them put together?! |
| User | Kristina9178 | 2004-11-20 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | I saw this happen today. A newbie posted about 8 of em...anyway, I think, as mature users, when we see something like this, we should send a PM to the person doing it, telling them about the rules. If they do it again...PFFFT... |
| User | Darc Archadya | 2004-10-11 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | *lol* So if I had done that, I would have gotten away with it? Oh well, guess I should have thought about that a while ago, eh? |

| User | Darc Archadya | 2004-10-06 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | When I started (a whole month ago) I couldn’t post more than 2 pieces to start out with. I had to make 12 comments before it would let me do anything else. Are there differences between now and then, or are some people just falling through the cracks? |
