End of story.’ Research has shown many obese people gain weight faster than the average person due to genetic factors. Quite aside from the health problems associated with excess fat ( heart disease, diabetes, infertility, osteoarthritis, raises risk of certain cancers, hormone problems etc.) obese people often suffer from emotional problems because of nasty, degrading remarks from people around them, or just simple social rejection they might associate with their weight. Even if obesity is their own ’fault’, it’s none of our business to go around calling them fat pigs, possibly worsening the compulsive eating.

Message	Redneck Cocaine? Did you know that the Nazis figured out how to mix it up on the battlefield to keep them alert? I don’t know if they still do, but they used to give it to our pilots to stay awake on long flights. Like any medicine, it lends itself to abuse.

Message	Blue Monk What you said is so true I for example have fought a big frame and gut my whole life When I was going insane during my crystal meth binges I got down to 175 pounds That is the thinnest I ever was and to tell you the truth I was on the verge of death It was then I realized be it fat or thin I am still the same person and to tell you the truth I am much more happier being what others call fat I am now 257 pds and I am 5 foot 8 Some may say that is obese but who cares I am happy and that is all that matters But you are so right about calling heavy people fat pigs and so on I have had a friend commit suicide at 24 because others couldnt accept him for the heavy person he was This still brings tears to my eyes Please People if this threaddoes anything I beg you PLEASE THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK God Bless Ron

Message	Compulsive over-eaters often do not wage a physical battle so much as a mental one. It is a battle none the less, perhaps even a harder one to win than most people will ever face. Calling such a person a "fat pig" or putting them down in general quite likely makes any of their attempts to curtail unhealthy behaviors even harder, aside from just being a hateful thing to do. Negativity reflects upon the originator.

Message	They don’t have to starve themselves; they can eat apples and fruits and salads (I lost twenty pounds one summer eating salad and fruit and doing martial arts). Fat people who ’can’t lose weight’ annoy me. I find it difficult to gain weight---I get off my ass and do things. There’s no excuse for being obese. Even if you’re inclined to be that way by genetics, you can still lose weight and keep it off if you’re healthy. There’s a girl I know that’s 5’4" and is like, 400 pounds (give or take fifty; probably give). She complains about me calling her a fat pig, but she sits at lunch and stuffs her face with three trays of food then goes home and eats McDonalds. If you’re fat, I’m going to tell you you’re fat. There’s no excuse for being obese. A bit overweight isn’t bad, because overweight now isn’t the same thing as overweight a hundred or so years ago---for instance, girls with a lot of curve and some fat like Greek statues are pretty; they used to be considered healthy and attractive before the anorexic-model fad. But when your stomach hands at level with your crotch, you’re a fat pig. End of story.
