Message  Seems like everyone wants to maintain their bad habits but do something about the effects of their bad habits

Message  yeah, and yet, everyone aparently wants to save the environment

Message  So is it essentially something purely environmental (ie we’re driving around in cars and throwing stuff in the water ways) or is this the effect of another cause. I mean to say it does suggest another cause because there is so much info out there to tellyou that we are doing nasty things to the environment and not much is happening in the way of abating the damage (By the way the biggest offenders on green house gas emmissions are the USA -they totally disregard standards set down by international commitees) ... seems like we can’t stop to save our selves

Message  the "shit" we have to stop is our destructive ways kanu. think about this: man pollutes the world and in return we are hit with cataclysmic storms and poverty. we will pay a price sooner or later

Message  i’ve always hated the term ’borrowing the world from our children’ ... when did we stop being those children? the world doesnt belong to anyone therefore nobody is borrowing it from anyone...

also, i dont believe in karma... i believe in the ’shit happens’ theory

Message  So if you examine the laws of karma you will say that they affect individuals, so it becomes a question of what can we do as individuals to lighten the karma we have heading our way. ....any suggestions?

Message  hey man this world isn’t ours -- we are borrowing it from our children. and we gotta give it back to them. if we just live for ourselves then according to the laws of nature and karma we are going to get screwed. and we are getting fucked up the ass with no lube -- look at all the little cogs running around the machine like they are having the time of their lives, isn’t it wonderful?

Message  kanu, I can see where you think that, so let me clarify what I meant by agreeing to the statement made by Broken heart dies. I am not a worrier and I don’t believe in worrying. It’s an utter waste of time and energy. Either work to better a situation that concerns you or move on to something that you can do something about. Not worrying is not the same as not caring or not being aware. mae

Actually, Africans sold neighboring tribes into slavery for gold. You can’t pretend that everything in Africa was just a perfect little peaceful place before the big bad whitee men came in and trashed the place. Ever seen a picture of a traditional native African? Chances are he is holding a spear. This is used for both hunting and warfare.

As for child soldiers, some African countries still practice female circumcision. That is, the removal of the labia, thus rendering great pain to the girls and taking away any pleasure in sex.

Of course they never commited genocide! Neither has the Chinese government, they are from the same ethnic background! If you want to look at it from a religeous angle, try researching how Islam spread-through the sword. Either you converted, or you died.

Please find an government web page with crime rates in order to verify that you aren’t a complete lying sack of shit.

Message  sounds like ostrich philosophy ... maybe its justified if one is too helplessly caught up in a restrictive situation - like say if you are serving a 99 year jail sentence with no chance of parole

Message  I think that worrying about the future of the world is a simple waste of time. Because most of us are only selfish anyway, so why not just worry about our own little lives so we don’t scare the next nittwit who believes everything they hear?
