Message  What is the most effective way to go about it? Which diets work and which are scams in your opinion? How young should one be to use diet pills? Why do some find it hard to stick to a diet? Are we making our next generation of children fat by the way we promote food and less active with television and video games? Is their a thing with trying to be to thin? What is better a healthy weight or looking like you can be a size 2 or 4? What motivates you to work out if you do? Is gastric bypass safe for aiding obesity? What are your thoughts on any of these?

Message  I’ve never had much trouble with weight... we’ll just say that I’ve been accused of annorexia before. I’m not. At all. Tell me, do I sound annorexic to you? I’m 5’8", 111 lbs. Just cause I’m long and lengthy doesn’t mean I have an eating disorder. I’m fine.

Message  Did you guys know that weight is not the same thing as mass? Weight is actually a measure of how strongly the earth’s gravitational pull is on you. They are proportional, but not equal.

I don’t know about you, but I find that interesting.

 Message  From Dictionary.com

pound
Abbr. lb.

from Latin (lbra) pond, (a pound) by weight.

Apparently, the abbreviation comes from the Latin root of the word pound.

Message   i weigh about a 100, but before i got pg i weighed 85. Im short so my weight is average. Im only 5’3.

You think 100 lbs. is average for 5’3"? I think most people of that height weigh considerably more than that (and when I say ’considerably’, I mean 10 lbs. or more). I also don’t think it’s a good weight for someone who is 5’3" - and especially an expectant mother. I understand that you’re getting over an eating disorder, but if you’re thinking that you’ve made it by reaching 100 lbs., then you still need to work on your attitudes about weight. According to a "healthy weight" chart, if you are 5’3" you should weigh between about 112 lbs. to 140 lbs. - in a non-pregnant state.

Since you have had bulimia and are now pregnant, you really need to be under close doctor’s supervision for your weight as well as your heart and bones. And about the last thing you should be doing (if you are) is fasting. The old adage "you’re eating for two" really is true. mae

Message  "Juice fasting is another excellent way to loose weight and improve health as it causes the body to consume weakened blood cells and replenish them with healthy ones, some toxins are stored in body fat and the process consumes these fats and cleanses the body of the toxins as you intake all the vitamins you need but not the calories"

You need to get some of your facts straight here. Fasting does not consume fat. Any diet - fasting or just reducing what you eat, consumes protein first - that’s muscle, dears. Unless you are consuming protein, you will lose protein - not fat. Your body does not ’consume’ weakened blood cells. Why are your blood cells weakened? Red blood cells are formed in bone marrow. It has nothing to do with fat.

Juices are high in calories - not from fat, but from natural sugars, some more than others. Orange juice is extremely high in sugar. It’s call ’hyperglycemic’ and is considered a ’bad carb’.

And I urge you to check me on both of these statements.

And 15 to 20 POUNDS!!! of IMPACTED fecal matter? In the AVERAGE American? Where in the world did you get such a statement? You wrote ’it is said’. By whom? That is just so off the wall!

You know, there are all kinds of diets and all kinds of people promoting them. As long as they don’t damage your health, I really couldn’t care less what kind of diet a person chooses. But when you put statements such as those out there as fact, when they are just plain wrong and possibly even harmful, I get a little testy.

All these dietary statements, as well as others, need to be verified by a dietician or weight management doctor. Please, people, do not just accept them. mae
