| User | Chell | | Topic | Personal Heaven | | Message | There have been some debates of late discussing how to get to heaven and what people believe happens after you die.
I’d like to know what you think heaven will be like. What would it look like? How will people act? What do you think we will be doing for eternity. Will we have physical forms, or will we be spirits? Will there be gravity? Rain? Grass and trees? Will animals exist in heaven?
If the people you’ve loved didn’t make it to heaven, would you still be content? Would you be happy for all eternity if you couldn’t have the animals you loved be with you there?
I’m not asking for proof of your beliefs, just want to get an idea of what your individual heavens would be. |

I was simply looking for personal concepts of heaven. What people would want it to be. How they would make it if they had the ability. "Personal Ideas on What Heaven Will Be Like" just wouldn’t fit inthe subject box.
Those are some great questions, Kanu! I’m curious to see how everyone will answer those... |

I mean where do you get the information on how to develop one? Are there any rules for developing a personal heaven? What if the creation of one personal heaven has a conflict with another personal heaven? Does that mean thatthere are also personal gods too, or does having a personal heaven automatically make you god? |

| User | Aelfled | 2006-02-26 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | I think that heaven will be perfect-- obviously :D I think there will be grass, trees, plants, different things like that, because in the beginning, didn’t God call it ’good’? It all brought Him glory before Adam and Eve sinned, so I think, yes, there will be animals and plants. The carnivorous animals, I hope, learn to be herbivorous ;)
As for maybe not seeing people I love in heaven. I know I won’t see all the people I love in heaven, but I believe that since I will be made perfect like Jesus, I will be perfectly content to have just Jesus. He is to be my all in all, as it is, so I think that in heaven, I won’t have a struggle any more to put Him above everything. I definitely hope horses are in heaven, cause I really want to know what it’s like to be the perfect horseman and have the perfect horse, but if there are no horses in heaven, I will be content. |

There is no darkness. Everything is self illuminated by its own natural radiance. There is no need of the sun or electricity for light.
How will people act?
Everything is conscious, from the people to the stones and they are all 100% completely socialised around the service of god without any tinge of material desire. (In case you haven’t noticed, the number one way to be unhappy in this world is when you start to focus on what YOU want). As such there is no need for laws or morals because everyone is naturally socialised around the service of god and there is no room for sin due to experiencing a higher taste. Its kind of like you have no appetite for food after eating a huge feast.
What do you think we will be doing for eternity.
The qualities of god and the spiritual world are always expanding so the result is that eternity is never boring. One moment god is the most attractive, the next moment his devotees are more attractiive, and thus the extent of god’s glories (and his devotees) and qualities can never be quantitatively measured.
Will we have physical forms, or will we be spirits?
We will exist as individuals but it will quite different from what understand as "self" in our current state of ignorance - the bodies are composed of eternity knowledge and bliss just as our bodies are currently temporary, abodes of ignorance and doubt and misunderstanding and misery.
Will there be gravity? Rain? Grass and trees? Will animals exist in heaven?
The principle that the spiritual world operates on is desire to serve god, manifesting as love for god. This world operates on force. Thus we are constantly limited in this world (despite our desire) but in the spiritual world you can manifest any desire and get the co-operation of the elements - there are no laws of nature that prohibit us - they merely become something like stage props.
Whatever we have experience of in this world has its original example in the spiritual world. In otherwords there is nothing lacking there and anything here is like a plastic shoddy imitation.
As for family and friends such bonds are formed out of illusion and are just like how straw meets in a river and is suddenly seperated again by the same currents of time.
Ultimately everyone makes it back to the spiritual world because the soul is eternal by nature and the only place that can reciprocate with eternity is the spiritual world. Even hell is temporary - although a little time spent there feels like an eternity. The trouble is that we do not actually see the soul and only see people’s bodies. Its kind of like seeing cars on a rainy highway at night. All the windscreens are fogged up and you can’t see the drivers but because the cars are moving you can understand that the driver is inside. In the same way we only see each others bodies and the drivers identity is a mystery to us, lol , infact we are even a mystery to ourselves
Basically all the relationships we form in this world, whether they be with other living entities or inanimate matter, are just like a dream and the moment you wake up your dream doesn’t become so important. Like for instance if you woke up from a dream where you were getting chased by a tiger you wouldn’t be worried about your relationship with a tiger because you know you actually are not in the vicinity of any tigers in real life (provided of course you don’t wake up in a zoo or something).
All this is not my individual belief but what I have ascertained to be true according to scripture and saintly people. Individual heaven is a totally bogus idea because we are not omnipotent, being subject to the control of ignorance in the material world.
There are also descriptions of material heavens which are basically like souped up versions of material happiness as we understand it. IN other words there is more opulence and stability. However in these locations there are still miseries in the form of inevitable death (even though you live for thousands of years) and association with unwanted persons and seperation from loved persons (in other words there is politics of negotiating incompatable desires) |
| User | Magnolia Steele | 2006-02-26 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | Lately I’m having trouble buying the idea of heaven, but if it was real, I think it would be like on earth in the form of paradise. Our bodies would be fleash, but perfect and could not die. Everyone would be haapy and free of sin or the desire to act in a sinful manner. I would be hurt if some of my family did not make it and not be all that happy. And shock ed if some did, and want out immediately. lol. I’d be fine if there were no aniamls. That’s what stuff animals are for. That’s my idea of heaven.
