| User | Jeniffer | | Topic | bible in hotel rooms | | Message | The words "one nation under God" are eliminated from the pledge in school, and there have probably been a few others will follow. What do you think they will be? And what do you think about it? How long before they take Gideons Bibles out of hotel rooms because, "then we’d have to put the Koran and the Talmud and the Gnostics in there too!" ? |

Uhmm... Don’t tell me I’m only concerned with myself. I’m trying to crucify my ego. I’m trying very hard to keep the entity of I out of everything. I think about others before myself, I’m hardly concerned with myself. Try going a week without saying the word "I" and then you can tell me I only think for myself. Please tell me how I am uninformed in anything in my post. Please tell me where I am only thinking about myself. Tell me how I’m "stupid". Please, I would like to know. Show me my faults so that I can fix them for you. |

Many "moslems" who can afford it just go to Lebanon or Europe for a little "fun". |
| User | ghostknight | 2006-07-06 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | not a bad idea; though i don’t agree with the total avoidance or outlawing of physical pleasure, the essential idea of islam without the radical edge (and without the present american fear and prejudice of the mere word) seems leagues better than what we have now. |

| User | Blue Monk | 2006-07-06 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | As can be seen in Europe and elsewhere, there is no need for violence to promote the views of Moslems when Islam is the fastest growing religion (even here in the U.S., perhaps?) and will eventually squeeze out Christianity if trends continue. This could backlash, however, if the radicals alienate even the peaceful Moslems from the general population. That would really be a shame.
In the long run, helping people understand things greatly outweighs killing them. You can’t convert a corpse! |

Well, I guess I should do my part and clear any misconceptions about our religon. The word "Islam" is translated from Arabic to English meaning "Peace." The entire religon is based on tolerance, patience and understanding. It is sad to see these "Muslims" diminish the message and image our Prophet [Peace Be Upon Him] worked hard to establish. |

Can anyone tell me why that would matter? Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion. Besides, this country was set up to PROTECT the MINORITY as well.
<quote>The words "one nation under God" are eliminated from the pledge in school</quote>
GOOD. The words "one nation under God" weren’t even in the pledge in the first place. If they were, I wouldn’t have a problem with them being in there for historical reasons, but the fact is they just weren’t in there because this country is not a Christian country, it wasn’t founded as one and never had the intension of being one by our founders. If one doesn’t beleive in a God, how can they pledge their allegience to this country in all honesty and truth?
<quote>How long before they take Gideons Bibles out of hotel rooms </quote>
The state isn’t putting Gideons Bibles in. The Gideons are. They just leave them there for anyone to pick up. Listen buddy, the Christians have a STRONG majority in this country even though they like to pretend like they are the victims. The fact is, there is nothing unconstitutional about people leaving Bibles in hotel rooms for other people to read or take home, so NOTHING is going to happen.
Even so, why do you want to shove your god down people’s throats? Why can’t you leave church where it belongs... IN CHURCH?! Because some people don’t want to hear it, don’t need to hear it and get very offended when they do hear it. |
| User | Blue Monk | 2006-07-05 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | Not dumb, MOST SERIOUS. The most "radical" of moslems are reportedly the Wahabis who enjoy a great deal of support from the Saudi royal family. The historical perspective is that the Wahabis, in addition to their religious fervor, serve to protect and support the interests of the King and the royal family.
Apparently the group doesn’t like the idea that George Bush has been trying to export democracy (and maybe Christianity) everywhere when they feel that their Kingdom is just fine as it is. Not that Bush would outwardly speak against his good friends in the Saudi Royal family.
Care to double check where the author and the pilots of the 911 crashes came from?
The Wahabi "schools" teach many things, tolerance not being included. Christians need not feel picked on though, Wahabis have killed more of their own moslem "brothers" than anyone else.

| User | Blue Monk | 2006-07-03 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | Gee, I’m in the "bible belt south" and there are mosques in operation on main streets. I’m unaware of any problems between Christians and Moslems here, or anyone else for that matter. |
| User | Avril54 | 2006-07-03 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | Well that made a lot of sense, kanu. If you’re not a Christian, fine, don’t read the hotel Bible. There’s no reason to take it out. Can anyone tell me what religion has the most believers in America? |
| User | kanu | 2006-07-03 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | I imagine there are many places in America (in the south) where being an open muslim would land you a molitiv cocktail or a baseball bat across the head - what’s the difference? |
