 Topic  Funeral Protesters
Message   What is your opinion about these idiots who are protesting at soldiers’ funerals? They carry signs "God hates America", "Burn in hell", "God damns you", and shit like that. So basically they are saying that if there is a draft in the future, all those soldiers who have no choice but to fight for our country, are to burn in hell. And if some of those who are drafted decide to go to Canada, then what kind of support is that giving to our soldiers that are already over there?

My opinion on this is that these god-damn protesters can shove their fucking slogans up their ass and get a life.

Message  These people aren’t usually affiliated with any organization, and even if they were excommunicated (which I believe applies to the minister who conducts these funeral protests) it doesn’t stop them from doing what they’re doing.

Message  These ’christian’ protestors are using funerals and memorial services to propegate their hate-based beliefs.

They are using these emotional rituals to draw media attention.

They are capitolizing on the sorrows of the less fortunate.

Anti-abortionist are doing the same thing when they bomb buildings because of thier hatred towards those who have acted upon different beliefs.

It is hugely inappropriate to use strong-arm tactics in an attempt to spread the loving ideals taught by Christ.

These people are NOT acting as Christians should act, and should be excommunicated, disfellowshipped, or vocally separated from their religions for acting against Christ’s teachings.

Acts of terror, violence, hatred, and judgement are NOT part of Christ’s plan.

They should all be ashamed of themselves. This is NOT how Christ wants his followers to act.

Message   We have freedom of speech thanks to those soldiers. The protesters wouldn’t even be allowed to do hat they are doing if it weren’t for those soldiers. They are the reason we have freedom.

Message  So I guess that leads to the question, "What are the genuine qualities of a Christian or a Christian religion."

These fanatics are against Homosexuality; an idiom taught in the Old Testament (the Jews Bible) but embraced by most Christians. Embraced to the point that they feel some humans in our society should not be considered equal as far as civil, eartly, American benefits go. Embraced to the point that it was o.k. to hate the a certain kind of person enough to justify electing and re-electing a war-mongering president.

I thought Christians were supposed to love one another, turn the toher cheek, be patient, long-suffering, and non-judgemental. I thought Christians were pacifist who would never blow up a building because they detest the behavior inside that building. People who would never support the death penalty or war. I thought Christians were supposed to share what they have with everyone that needs it- regardless of who they are.

Here’s an interesting thought- by looking at the above traits I’d have to say I know a lot more true Christians that are gay than straight...

Message  Absolutely shameful behavior. People who don’t appreciate those who die protecting their freedom and their country should be forcibly removed from that country’s borders. No one is perfect - not governments, and not the men who follow their orders to kill and die on foreign soil - but that does not justify the disrespect of these protestors.

Message  The protesters look more like a CULT than any mainstream church to me.
Taken from M-W Online for

CULT
3 : a religion regarded as unorthodox or spurious; also : its body of adherents

orthodox
1 a : conforming to established doctrine especially in religion

spurious
2 : outwardly similar or corresponding to something without having its genuine qualities

That makes them a bunch of FAKE CHRISTIANS in my book.

Message  The same people also held protests at the Sago Mine with signs saying, "Thank God for dead miners" and ""Miners in Hell." And they preach that God killed them because of homosexuality in our society.

???WTF???

It’s only a small group, thank God.

It would be frightening if Christians taught such intolerance of homosexuality instead of teaching the concept of loving they neighbor as they self.

I mean what’s next? Are Christians going to start bombing abortion clinics?

 Message  Here’s the scoop:

The protesters are not anti-war liberals but, rather, members of Westboro Baptist Church (WBC) in Topeka, Kansas, who claim that the deaths of U.S. soldiers in Iraq are inflicted by God to punish the United States for its acceptance of gays and lesbians.

One of the church’s websites claims that the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, the space shuttle Columbia disaster, and the improvised explosive device (IED) attacks on U.S. troops in Iraq are examples of divine retribution visited upon the United States, allegedly as a punishment for the "sin" of homosexuality.

Glad to see our "Christians" being so open minded.

And all this time I thought our boys were being killed over oil, not Gays...

Can everyone pause for a moment and take a breath???

Message  Exactly. They think they’re making a difference, but really all they are doing is making themselves look stupid. I would like to send them over in Iraq and watch them try to compromise a terrorist to not be-head them. That would be very very amusing.

Message  Well, Joey, that would probably be because god is not pissed off at gays, mankind is.

And I hate to say this, but if given the chance if it were to ever happen that I saw a wanted terrorist planning to kill us all, I think I would kill him first. Yes, war is not a pretty thing, but I am by no means a pacifist. My question to any pacifist in this forum is this...

"Would you rather be dead or taken over by a country who revels in dictatorship, than be free?"
