| User | PiperH | | Topic | God | | Message | Do you believe in God? Why or why not? Do you beleive in him, but don’t have much faith? I’m choice #2. I believe that he’s there but I don’t have a lot of faith in him. I’m not against anybody about what they believe. I just want to know what others think. |

| User | Slavex | 2006-09-04 | | | Subject | hmm | | Message | God’s existence in five ways
First and most obvious is the way that begins with change. It is obvious that some things in the world are undoubtedly in the process of changing. But anything undergoing change is being changed by something else..Moreover, if this something else is in the process of changing, it itself is being changed by another thing, and this by another. Now the changing has to stop somewhere, or else there will be no first cause of the changing...And so we have to come to some first cause of changing that is not itself changed by anything else, and this is what everyone understands by God.
The second way is derived from the nature of causation. In the physical world we find causes in an order of succession; we never see, nor could we, anything causing itself, for then it would have to pre-exist itself, and this is impossible...We must therefore suppose a First Cause, which all call “God”.
The third way is drawn from the existence of the unnecessary and the necessary...Our experience includes things certainly capable of existing but apparently unnecessary, since they come and go, being born or dying. But if it is unnecessary for a thing to exist, it did not exist once upon a time— and yet everything cannot be like this, for if everything is unnecessary, there was once nothing. But if such were the case, there would now be nothing, because a non-existent thing can only be brought into existence by something already existing..Hence we are compelled
to suppose something that exists necessarily, having this necessity only from itself; in fact, it itself is the cause why other things exist.
The forth way is supported by the gradation noticed in things. There are some things that are better, more true, more noble, and so forth, and other things less so... There is therefore a truest and best and most noble thing, and so most fully existing..And this we all call “God”.
The fifth way is taken from the ordered tendencies of nature. All bodies which follow natural laws show a direction of actions to a goal, even when they are without awareness...Anything, however, without awareness, tends to a goal only under the guidance of someone who is aware and knows: the arrow, for instance, needs an archer. Everything in nature, consequently, is guided to its goal by someone with knowledge and this one we call “God”....*St. Thomas Aquinas *
it would be unintelligent to say that there wasnt a God/sorce of creation..what He represents is the question...what His goal is.. ..I do believe in a source to all creation.
..and I’m drawn to many things...which I hold closest to my heart...for ex..Darkness and Music... they’re a part of my life for a reason..and only "God" knows why...
..I dont follow an organized religion..I follow my own code of morals..which I was born with...I act on whatever I , myself., think is correct..and in the end..I’ll be put in my place.. |

I think sin is just a religion’s word for something that particular religion belives to be bad. I do not belive in the Catholic god, nor so much the Christian god, my god is a loving god, not a god who damns you to hell for something you did wrong.
