 Topic  Musical Taste
Message  This has been bugging me for a long time. I know people who tell me I shouldn’t criticise their musical taste, cos after all everyone has different tastes (that bit I understand entirely). So why then are the same people first in line to have a go at me for who I listen to? Is it one rule for some music fans, one rule for others?

Message  I generally listen to music like Lacuna Coil, Marilyn Manson, Mortal Love, and Army of Me. But I have a wide variety of music, ranging even to Eminem, Akon, and even Elton John and Billy Joel. I even listen to country, I grew up listening to it. Personally, I don’t like a lot of rap music, but whatever suits a person’s taste, you know?

Message  I once read something in a newspaper about a songwriter I like:
"Should he win the Mercury Prize? Of course he should, he’s one of Britain’s best songwriters. WILL he win it? No, because he’s in a pop band, he’s not ’cool’ enough to win it."

Message  I enjoy telling people I’m a metal head sometimes, just to see the expression on their faces..

Here’s an interesting thought.... Try to find as many quotes as we can within the music we listen to relating to this topic (or as closely related as possible).... Anybody with me?

A quote for the Rap industry:
I need drama in my life to keep making music.

Message  My musical tastes are all over the board
I have no particular favorite style of music
Right now my favorite band is Bowling For Soup for current artists and I really like Pink Floyd for the classic style

Message  Whenever someone craps on their music they’ll say "if you dont like it dont listen to it" but then if there’s something they don’t like they’ll bitch and moan...basically, Lord Bane expect everyone to be a huge hypocrite and you’ll understand:P.

Message  I gave the grateful dead a shot....most of it bored me...but it wasn’t bad.

It just didn’t touch me the way jazz and rock n roll do.

Message  My taste in music dates back to the birth of Jazz.

Of course I never devoloped that appreciation until i arrived in New Orleans for the first time.

Hearing live jazz is downright breathtaking. Don’t knock it til you tried it...or I will make fun of your deafness...not your music.

Message  lol, I’m just gonna say a quote the band I like once made which shows how seriously they take themselves: "Are you lot ready to have a good time? (cheers from crowd) Well sorry, you’ve come to the wrong place."
