 Topic  car bombs
Message  i just wanted some opinions on the london car bomb scare and the car bomb incident in scotland that occured a couple of days ago... did the government stage it or was it legit?

an ambulance crew finds a car with smoke suspicious.... what inthat car would have been smoking? the nails? the gas or propane? if they were smoking they would have been ignited and the car would have exploded....

they found the other car because it smelled like gas.... a lot of cars smell like gas... they use gas...

wehn i saw on tv that the first two bombs were found.... i turned to my roomate and told him i thought it was a set up... and that they’ll have one more car bomb and they’ll have it go off somewhere that’s not real close to where the first two were found... cause they want to scare people... and then just so people knew it was real, they have to let one go off....

what do you think?

Message  Once a government is committed to the principle of silencing the voice of opposition, it has only one way to go, and that is down the path of increasingly repressive measures, until it becomes a source of terror to all its citizens and creates a country where everyone lives in fear. ---Harry S Truman August 8, 1950

The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions, that I wish it always to be kept alive. --Thomas Jefferson (1743 - 1826)

When you have an efficient government, you have a dictatorship. --Harry S Truman (1884 - 1972)

We know that dictators are quick to choose aggression, while free nations strive to resolve differences in peace. We know that oppressive governments support terror, while free governments fight the terrorists in their midst. We know that free peoples embrace progress and life, instead of becoming the recruits for murderous ideologies. --George W. Bush

I am going to hold the government accountable for every act of terrorism that occurs in this country until the government secures our borders.

I refuse to hear about how well our government is doing against the war on terror, about how they have secured the borders in Iraq, about how they have overthrown the latest terrorist attack, while they allow our borders to be porous enough that they can be WALKED THROUGH...

Message  look, I’m not fooled that easily, but a worse example of absurd conspiracy theories is the Oklahoma bombing (apparentely involving a German secret agent). His involvment was either:
1) Spying but failing to warn about the attack, or
2) Allowing the attack to happen anyway.
As he put it there’s a third option.....he had nothing to do with it

Message  how did building 7 collapse during the 9/11 attacks?

governments sacrifice civilians all the time... look at soldiers being sent to fight unneccesary wars.... who sank the USS Maine? .....there’s some questions still about the sinking of the lusitania....the japanese blew up thier own railways and blamed it on the chinese.... nazi’s fabricated evidence of a polish attack to boost support.... the us allowed pearl harbor to be attacked in order to get the japanese to ’fire the first shot’....

http://weazlsrevenge.blogspot.com/search/label/Operation%20Gladio

that’s just a blog site, but it kind of puts all of these "conspiracy theories" into one place... some of them have been proven.. some are waiting for more evidence as the cover ups become unravelled.....

i know i listed stuff about nazi’s and whatever... and i know someone will state that they would have donet that because they were an evil government.... well... just remember.. the people of germany and euprope in general had no idea how evil that government was until it was too late.... that can happen to anyone....

Message  Fear is such a powerful tool to control the masses. Why do people blindly accept restrictions of freedom when under the guise of ’protection’? Big Brother is out to get you, as they say. You better believe it. And the UK is just as bad, what with a CCTV camera for every 14 people. Every 14! To live in such a paranoid country like that would be a lot of fun, don’t you think?

Keep on believing these figureheads actually care about you as an individual, and that there are scary men with bombs out to get you. Fools. Eat it up.

Arrivederci. I have no wish to get into a full-scale argument about this. Why? Because you’ve already fallen victim to fear. Eat it up. It’s good for your complexion (or insert some other mindless propaganda to divert your attention from real problems happening in your own country). Watch your back. The bombs, the bombs, the scary people!!

I’d much prefer to concentrate on health, education, job security and the like myself.

Message  the brits have a lot of experience with terrorism (going back to the days of the IRA). they and the israelis are probably the best equipped to deal with it.

no, this isn’t concocted. all you have to do is listen to the rhetoric of these extremists to understand how very real their hatred of us is.

Message  I think we need to keep in mind that the governments of the world do not need to stage terrorist activities. They only need to allow those activities to occur; or swoop in at the last minute, broadcast the thwarted plans, and reiterate why we need to give up more freedoms so they can "protect" us.

The United States had been sufficiently warned about 9/11 (of course, the date was not set when they heard the rumblings) but nothing was done to stop terrorists from gaining access to those planes until after the twin towers fell, Americans died, and everyone was sufficiently terrified.

Bush wanted to go after Saddam before he took office. (" After all, this is a guy who tried to kill my dad at one time.") Allowing 9/11 to happen gave him the means to go after a country that had not attacked us first- that means being the will of a frightened American populace.

It would be too easy, in this world of instant media to uncover any staging on a government level, but it is too easy for those governments to agitate their ’enemies’ and then sit back and let them carry out their plans to the greatest political benefit.

Message  I find the idea that any government would risk any civilian lives for any reason rather terrifying. Its like the conspiracies around 9/11, I’m yet to see any compelling evidence that that was staged either

Message  "The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary." - H. L. Mencken (1880 - 1956)

We will more than likely see and hear and be warned about increases in ’terrorist activities’ the closer we get to the elections.

Americans, historically, have voted conservative when they feel threatened, and the Repub’s are going to need all the help they can get this election.

Has anyone else noticed that the restrictions/security measures on passports and security check points have been lessened for the summer by our own government because of problems with the new computer chipped passports? I find this unacceptable, especially when history has shown that terrorist groups like the summer or end of summer months for their campaigns.

"Bad officials are elected by good citizens who do not vote." -George Jean Nathan (1882 - 1958)

I’m so ready for a new direction that I’m voting third party this year. My reasoning being that they can’t make more of a mess than the dem’s and repub’s. And with the two parties polarized like they are we can have no hope of getting the job of governing done.

"I like to believe that people in the long run are going to do more to promote peace than our governments. Indeed, I think that people want peace so much that one of these days governments had better get out of the way and let them have it. "-Dwight D. Eisenhower (1890 - 1969)

Message  do you think that they havent staged massive attacks on themselves before...? do you honestly think that they care about the people that would get hurt?

Beso, I agree that some governments attack their citizens - which is why I said a ’benevolent government’. There is no evidence to think that either the British or the Scottish governments are the kind that would attack their own people. It just doesn’t compute, dear. Now, if it were Iraq, Iran, North Korea or some African countries (and others I haven’t named), such a theory would make more sense. Here it doesn’t- at least to me. mae

Message  to keep people frightened, mae.... it’s not just a single government conspiracy... it has become a world government conspiracy... and do you think that governments care about people... do you think that they havent staged massive attacks on themselves before...? do you honestly think that they care about the people that would get hurt?

yes... the airport bomb was spotted when it was rammed into the terminal... like i already stated... they wanted one to at least hurt someone... so the threat would be more realistic...

and are you saying that there arent enough people to stage something like this? if that’s the case, i think you need to open your eyes

Message  That’s the point I was trying to make....while THEORETICALLY it could have been staged, they would have had to be sure it would be foiled, otherwise they would have massive casualties
