| User | insphered soul | | Topic | College Major | | Message | I’ve been thinking about college alot lately and I can’t seem to decide on what I would want to major in. I’m thinking about majoring in IT and minoring in marine biology.
So pretty much what I want to ask everyone is:
what do you plan on majoring in?
what are you majoring in?
what did you major in when you were in college?
what are you thoughts about it? |

| User | insphered soul | 2007-12-03 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | I really want to be a Computer Support Specialist. But there are other jobs in that field that interest me too. |
| User | Blue Monk | 2007-12-01 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | I just figured out that if I’d stayed in high tech electromechanical maintenance after getting out of the navy instead of getting a college degree, I’d have made a lot more money in the time since! College should not be viewed as the best thing for everyone.
Seek what you really enjoy that also happens to pay well or get into some kind of business for yourself that motivates you. |

As it is The majority of the workforce changes their careers 2-3 times in a life span. NOw, what I would recomment(because your mind WILL change) is find out what you like, not what you want to be, but what subject you’d be comfortable with on a daily basis. Now i got no idea what your good at, or any plans. But what worked for me is going to a 2 yr. college, and just getting my assoc. in gen. stud. I’ve changed my mind numerous times, and even now only have it narrowed down to the field in which I’d like to work in. Good luck man |

When you’re older you’ll probably be rewarded for your patience. And your younger brother has been ill hasn’t he? You caring for him so much can only reap rewards. Keep it up then. |

| User | Jeniffer | 2007-10-14 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | Ok, listen. My family situation has never been stable. Some days things are really bad, like yelling and throwing things bad. ( I’m not the one doing the yelling or the throwing, mind you.) Other days I feel real hope for our family. I really love my dad and I understand why he thinks the way he does. He tells us a lot about his childhood and it wasn’t normal.
I’ve gone through a major change; I don’t let him tell me what to say or what to think anymore. I’ve spoken my mind on things that have bothered me deeply ever since I was little, and it came with a cost. But I think it also may have opened a door in our relationship. Lately he seems more open to me doing something with my life, even going to college or being a doctor of some kind, something he’s usually violently opposed to; he’s always had plans for us, his children, but his paranoia and his needy love for us steps in the way of that.
When things are bad, it makes me feel like the only escape will be to go somewhere, anywhere, when I’m old enough, even if I walk out the door while he’s yelling. When his good side shows, I don’t want to do that anymore. His bad side is very bad, sometimes scary, but his good side is very good, just like a father should be. I can’t just leave and go to summer camp or get an apartment. I have a little brother to take care of and my whole previous life in this family. I do trust in God for things to work out. I just don’t want to feel trapped, you know? |

How does he think you’ll turn out if he wont let you meet boys to expose you to those things?
Parents these days....
