| User | crimson_panda | | Topic | Banning Hugs | | Message | Well, I woke up this morning and watched the news. They said something about banning hugs from school. I don’t think it’s right. But they’re mainly talking about guys hugging girls and girls hugging guys. Okay, I have a lot of guy friends but that’s just because I’m a tomboy. So what is your opinion on this? Should it be banned or not? |

| User | Blue Monk | 2007-11-01 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | good old Dr. Phil (doesn’t he have a last name?)
I don’t know who has a bigger ego, him or Bill O’Reilly.
I can’t stand more than 30 seconds of either one.
and no, I wouldn’t trust either to teach a child about hugging. |

Unfortunately that is probably the case for about 65% to 85% depending upon where and when you look. I’d say there is about 15% of the "real deal" out there. The rest will be very surprised (or perhaps not) come judgement day when at such time the silver coins collected from tithes will not buy much.
Remember, Jesus was betrayed with a kiss (and probably a hug).

But I think you have a point: linear progress (or one track minds).
We’re just trying to fit the molds that somebody (who? I don’t know) created. It is the same case with this hugs issue - although we seem to have had sexual freedoms liberated recently in our history now we’re trying to deal with the epidemic of all-out sex (that is, premarital sex, teen sex, casual sex, but only sex that is apparent) - in that they want to clear the forest completely, knock every single thing that stands in their (tunneled) view. (Anything visible in this case: because we all know hugging isn’t going to stop kids from having sex or being naturally sexually curious. It’s one of those things that people do to boost morale or something, some false sense of confidence.) |
| User | Blue Monk | 2007-10-30 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | I believe it was a Bush (maybe the senior) speach that told of establishing a "new world order". Baby Bush is just keeping in that track. But then, so did Clinton, so would have Gore or Kerry, and so will Madame President Clinton after next year. Oh yeah, hugs! |
| User | rouge wave | 2007-10-30 | | | Subject | . | | Message | At least hugging is mutually inclusive. I’m willing to bet, Chell, that whatever survey you checked (55% of 11-18 year olds performing oral sex) were young women performing on the young (or sometimes older) boys.
So maybe they only ban things that have equal pay-off. |
| User | Chell | 2007-10-30 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | Thanks to Baby Bush for promoting the peculiar practices of refusing to listen to the American People about the War, enforcing immigration laws, and allowing Justice to prevail. But, ya know, what’s good for the President is good for the USA... |
| User | Blue Monk | 2007-10-29 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | Thanks to Bill for promoting that particular practice. What’s good for the President is good for the USA. |
| User | Chell | 2007-10-29 | | | Subject | untitled | | Message | So, I was surfing the net today and found an interesting statistic- 55% of youth (ages 11- 18) are engaging in oral sex...
Thank God we’re banning hugs or all would be lost!
