 Topic  Iraq
 Message  Dear “Americans”,

I use quotation marks because I am not entirely sure that I want to call you Americans or if indeed I want you to reside in my country. The National Anthem calls this country “the land of the free, and the home of the brave.” But day in and day out I see nothing but cowards and fools in this country.

For those of you against the war in Iraq, why? Don’t the Iraqi people deserve the same freedoms that we as “Americans” enjoy and in my opinion take for granted? The media is not your friend in the Iraq issue. All the headlines are the same, “More American lives lost in Iraq today” and so on and so forth. But I have yet to hear the media report on any of the good things that are happening over there. Can you honestly say that you hear about the schools that are being built? That you hear about all the young girls that can now attend school, when under Saddam Hussein they could not? No you don’t hear about any of those things.
Operation Iraqi Children, ever heard of it? Didn’t think so. But I bet you have heard of Gary Sinise, aka, Lieutenant Dan from Forrest Gump. Ring any bells? Just for future reference, Operation Iraqi Children is a charity started by Gary Sinise that collects school supplies for Iraqi children that otherwise would not be able to afford them. But yet this war is so bad.
Yes, I agree 4,000 deaths is a big number, and I send my sympathies out to all the families that have lost loved ones because of this war. But in the reality of war, 4,000 is not even a pin prick. In WWII on D-Day. And I emphasize D-Day alone, over 9,000 Americans lost their lives. In the entire war the casualties numbered over 300,000. I challenge you to do a little research. Vietnam had more deaths, WWI had more deaths. Almost any war before this one, has had more casualties. We have lost 4,000 soldiers in 5 years. But there is one major difference between this war and all the other wars with the exception of Vietnam and Korea. The media. If you lived during the 2nd world war, the media did not report the number of casualties to the American public. They might mention a key battle, but no numbers were mentioned.
I hate to say it but Americans have become cowards. This country was founded on bravery. All those men who signed The Declaration of Independence, ever wonder what happened to them? They died fugitives, living in poverty, hunted like dogs by the British. Didn’t know that, did you? They knew that as soon as they put their name on that piece of paper they had committed treason, and would be hunted down and executed by the British. Would you have signed your name knowing that? I highly doubt it. But if you would have, congratulations you are a true American. Not one of those “Americans” that hide behind the first amendment and wouldn’t raise a finger to help their country.
Remember September 11th? I do, I remember watching that second plane fly into the building, and I remember crying as I watched those poor people jumping to their deaths in order to escape the fire. But most Americans seem to have forgotten that. Partly because we aren’t allowed to show the footage on TV. But you know what is an even greater tragedy than Sept. 11th? The fact that it took a major terrorist attack and the loss of 3,000 American lives to unite this country. But that only lasted for a short time. America is divided once again. And this time on the issue of race. Barrack Obama parades around like a rock star and has people fawning over him. Because that is all America really wants isn’t it, a pretty face, a good personality. Never mind that he only has one term in the senate and no other political experience to speak of. And where does he stand on the issues? Why does he swear in on the Koran? The very book that justified Sept. 11th? But people don’t care where Obama stands on the issues, he is better than President Bush, right?
Poor President Bush, forever blamed for Clinton’s mistakes. That’s right I said “Clinton’s mistakes.” I bet you didn’t know that Bill Clinton knew exactly where Osama Bin Laden, the mastermind behindSept. 11th , was. Knew exactly what he was capable of. Remember the embassy bombings in Africa, and the FIRST attempt to bomb the World Trade Center. But what did Clinton do about it. Nothing, instead someone within the Clinton administration, may he or she burn in hell, tipped Bin Laden off that the CIA was coming after him, and poof, he disappeared. Maybe if Clinton would have been less concerned with where his next blow job was coming from and concentrated on putting trustworthy people in his administration Sept. 11th would not have happened, and we wouldn’t be in Iraq right now. But its all President Bush’s fault. Poor guy. What else do you want to blame on him? Was it his fault your car broke down? Did President Bush make your dog run away? Please, grow up America.
And for all you “Americans” that throw eggs at soldiers, and protest at the funerals for soldiers with lovely little signs about how their death is all because America lets homosexuals live in this country. GET OUT! If you don’t want to support our troops or respect people that are far braver than you will ever be, even in your wildest dreams, GET OUT! Move to Cuba, you’ll be much happier there. Or how about Venezuela? Those places are a little more your style I think. American Soldiers put their lives on the line day in and day out for people like you. People that hide behind the flag, and disrespect everything this country was founded on. People like you don’t even have the guts to sign the contract and go to war for your country. Pitiful, we have no use for you here, just go away.
I’m sure there are a few of you “Americans” that want to hit me right now, maybe even kill me. But you know what I signed my name on that contract. I was willing to die for my country. Can you say the same? But sadly I never got the chance to go to war for my country. Health issues forced me out of the Army. But I would go to Iraq in a heartbeat. Most of you are too cowardly to say the same. You want all the freedoms that this country can give you, but you aren’t even willing to defend them. How sad.
To all those out there that have served, or are currently serving in the United States Military, I thank you from the bottom of my heat. I wish I was over there right now fighting beside you. And to all those who have lost loved ones in this war, I truly am sorry for your loss. But for those of you that are cowards and don’t deserve to be called Americans. I have nothing to say to you. You disgust me. I have one word for you, Cuba.

Your Truly,

An American Citizen

Message  I am every bit as patriotic as you. I love my country and the ideals it was founded on, and that is why I oppose the Bush administration’s use of the Constitution as toilet paper.

Message  Iran become friendly towards us? Now there’s a dream. Remember, they kidnapped our embassy people nearly 30 years ago - when we weren’t even glancing toward Iraq. They cried "Death to America" long before Iraqis did. I don’t think they’re going to feel friendly toward us anytime soon.

Message  I hope you’re right, Blue.

I worry a bit though- the media (judge the source) says that we are no longer fighting Al Queda in Iraq but are now battling insurgents from Iran.

So, I have to ask, if we leave, will Iran take over Iraq? And if so, how long will it be before they move towards Syria, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia?

Or will Iran become friendly towards us once we leave Iraq?

Too many queations- unless we plan on leaving the middle east (and paying both sides of this war) totally behind us by growing hemp and making ethanol possible.

Message  One year after Obama is elected, Irak and Afganistan will be but sad footnotes in American history, kind of like those of Viet Nam, Korea and any number of other "police actions". The "Civil War" was the saddest of all but it was predestined following the revolutionary war with Great Britain.

Message  I don’t see as much news lately on the war in "Irak", but I do notice that EVERYONE in the U.S. military, National Guard and reserves is getting a "tour" and perhaps two or three. And let’s not forget the good folks from Blackwater and other such "contractors".

To say that George Bush really "screwed the pooch" on this one is a vast understatement. He should have listened to General Colin Powell and stayed out.

Message  Wow, everyone cares so much about the 4000 soliders who died in the war. What about the Iraqi civilians who have died because of it? As for raising money to start charity services, seriously what is the point? I think most Iraqi’s wouldn’t send their children out to school when their lives are at risk. First there should be security again, then education and all that should come in.

Message  Seems that every forum conversation can ultimately boil down to religious values, and morals in general.

I pray grace will lead us home.

 Message  Even though I call myself a follower of Christ, I would still find it hard to refrain from wishing a serious change of heart, perhaps by scaring the hell out of any person who;

1. Would desecrate the following in the interest of public protest,
a. Holy Scriptures or symbols (any)
b. The flag of the United States of America
c. The funeral of anyone who has fallen in the service of their country.
(The above represents special dunce-cap for eternity stuff)

2. Causes harm, pain and/or suffering without regard to others, particularly women, children and animals, or has callous disregard for the wellbeing of same.
(Special corner of Hell stuff #2)

3. Leads others astray from the true representation of their faith for the purpose of personal power and/or gain. (Special corner of Hell stuff #1)

I guess I’ll have to rely on grace for such "weakness" on my part.

Message  "is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their deeds."

Thank God that Christians will not find their ends according to their deeds, or some of them might be in deep heat!

So, am I understanding this correctly, If someone is a servant of Satan we can tell because they don’t love others, they judge people, they act selfishly and refuse those less fortunate than themselves, right?

If so, then couldn’t we also tell those of us who are follows of Christ because they understand they have been saved by grace alone and that great gift of eternal life is evidenced by the overwhelming love they feel for their fellow human beings?

Message  Just as foretold long ago:

2Cr 11:13 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.
2Cr 11:14 No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.
2Cr 11:15 Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their deeds.

Can anyone say "generic", "stereotyping" and "um, aren’t there yokels in Midwest America with bombs and ’anti-everything because it’s Satan’s work’ types professing to be Christian"?

Seriously, ugh.

Random thoughts:

I think the name "machine dream" sounds feminine or gay, especially if you translate it into Spanish for "sueño de la máquina". Not that I have anything against females or gays (or even Spanish)... I actually think that "sueño de la máquina" sounds very sexy. More sangria please!
