| User | Mister Fizzle | | Topic | vintage fizzle? | | Message | I recently came across some poems I wrote back in 2000. I didn’t think they were bad at all, actually some of them blew me away a little. But written from a totally different place than where I now inhabit emotionally and mentally I think. It’s almost like I forgot that place and I was amazed at the words and style that I used 4 years ago. It made me a little sad because I wondered if I lost that fire but at the same time it made me happy because I think my poetry has grown since then as far as just being less vague and more relative to true feelings.
anyway i though maybe I should do an experiment. open a new name on elite and post all the fizzle stuff from 2000 under that name. I wonder which would do better. A competition with my younger self. fire versus age. i dunno maybe it’s a dumb idea, tell me what you guys think.

As a reader, I for one would be interested in reading your older and newer pieces, and I think it would be interesting and probably pretty intellectually rewarding to pick out the differences in older vs. newer. You see how you have changed, now I want to see, because you have now intrigued me. |
