While filling out the senseless paper work, Bryson tried to convince himself he was gonna be alright. “I’ve had no symptoms of any types of disease, I’m fine, this is all just a waste of time.” No matter how much he tried to convince himself he was perfectly healthy, in the back of his mind he second guessed himself, the fear was getting to mind and it was causing him to become even more nervous as if his body was trying to fight off an infection. Bryson finished filling out the paper work and walked to the counter, handed the woman the questionnaire and waited for his next task. The woman flipped though the work and look at the brave and not a care in the world young man standing in front of her and said “Just have a seat and we will call you in a minute.” As Bryson took a seat, his cell phone started to buzz, he had received a text message.
The text had read, “Please call me after you find out what the results are- Nes.”
Bryson stopped thinking about himself and began to question his relationship with Vanessa and what he was going to do if he has caught something. He realize its not like him to even have to think about the matter at hand. He always said to himself, he would either beat the girl up or never talk to her again period, why should this decision even be difficult. Because this decision involves love, Bryson couldn’t help being without Vanessa in his life when he thought she was healthy as could be; however, Bryson doesn’t even know why he doesn’t completely hate Vanessa for the news he has found out. This was a prime example of someone saying what they would do when they are not in the situations; however, you really do not know what you would really do until you are in that situation.
Countless memories of good times crossed Bryson mind and one after another a bad moment in his and Vanessa relationship would also cross his mind. It had seem as if his mind was having a debate and the memories were used as exhibits. Bryson then remember a memory of Vanessa and him at Vanessa job parking lot, Bryson’s fondest memory. As they were in the back seat of Vanessa car, nothing but pure lust and infatuation were involved in the two’s speech. In the heat of the moment their passion is fully explored and honest, this was the first female Bryson had sex with without using a condom. Experiencing this incredible feeling, there was nothing that could compare to the sensations and emotional connection Bryson experienced every time he slept with Vanessa. This night was special to Bryson because it was the first time him and Vanessa had an orgasm at the exact same time. Both of there boys warm and flowing with the other’s juices, holding each other naked bodies as close as they had ever held anyone. Bryson was convinced on that night that he had possibly found “The One,” the person he could spend the rest of his life with. While holding each other, Vanessa had turned and looked to Bryson saying words that shocked Bryson; however, gave him a sign of relief at the same time, “ Bryson, you don’t know how much mean to me and your so special to me... I love you... Do you love me?”
“Bryson!... Bryson!” said the nurse at the open door. Bryson hopped up and walked to the lady with a smile. “Right this way sir,” the woman requested. Before stepping through that door, Bryson said to himself the last prayer or emergency call to God, “Lord please protect me, and give me the strength to handle what is about to take place.” Bryson took a deep breath and walked through the door with the nurse, He looks so confident and brave as if he knows he doesn’t have any STD and he is only here as if its a joke or a test for some type of employment. However, in his mind he was scared to the very soul; Bryson was mentally confused, betrayed, in love, angry, and in disbelief. The nurse took him in a room and said, “Hello, I’m Ellen, Take a seat on the table and what can we do for you today?” As Bryson hopped on the table he stated, “Yea.. umm... I’m here for a STD test, I’ve been sleeping with a person with out condoms who has HPV and Herpes.” The nurse looked with a smile and responses, “It’s okay, I know your nervous, we’ll find out what’s what and go from there OK?”
Walking out the door he had came into with the nurse for the beginning of his testing, Bryson walked to the counter wear he had filled out the paperwork and handed the nurse a sheet of paper. The nurse took the sheet of paper and reviewed it and walked to the back of the room and grabbed a brown paper bag to hand Bryson. Bryson took the bag and with a smile on his face told the nurse, “Thank you ma’am.” The nurse replied, “Have a nice day sir.” Bryson then walked out the front door of the clinic and saw a young woman approaching the door from the outside, very attractive young lady; Bryson said “After you shawtie,”as he held the door open for her and admired her seductive legs stroll pass him. The two exchanged smiles as they crossed paths; however, Bryson then realized where he was leaving and his facial expression changed as he shakes his head from side to side. He thought to himself, “I wonder what she is here for, I think I’ll pass on her.”
As Bryson walked to his car, the smile on his face slowly disappeared as he kept moving his baseball cap from backwards to frontward to sideways. As he got in his car, he threw the paper bag into the passenger seat and put the key in the ignition; however, before starting the car; Bryson slipped back his visor to his CD collection and grabbed a CD that was labeled “Pain Music” and replaced the CD already in his deck with it. Bryson then took a look at the paper bag, opened the bag and reach in and took out a roll of condoms. Bryson then threw the condoms on the seat with the bag and said “What good are these gonna do me now?” As he started the car and back out the space, a song came from the car speakers that would break what was left of the young man’s spirits. As a piano played on, words so deep and painful strike Bryson emotionally and mentally, “It was Love at First Sight/ I know, from the way she looked at me/ Her eyes said it all...”
As Bryson drove, he couldn’t help but rethink about the information he had just received. “Bryson, I’m sorry to inform you this but you have contracted HPV and Gential Herpes,” said Ellen. Bryson put his head down; however, not surprised by the results, it was as if he knew he wasn’t gonna get out this situation without something. Ellen reached out to Bryson’s shoulder and said, “Hey, you can be treated, this isn’t the end of your life.”After a little small talk amongst the two, Ellen then handed Bryson three sheets of paper and said, “Take the little pink sheet to the front desk and these two pieces of paper are for you to read, one being about HPV and one being about Gential Herpes.” Bryson stepped down from the table and folded the two larger papers and placed them in his back pocket. He looked at Ellen and said, “Thank You, I’m gonna be okay.”
“Buzz!... Buzz!...Buzz!,” coming from Bryson’s Cell also seating in the passenger seat. Bryson then splits back to reality from reflecting the recent memory and grabs his with his right hand while keep the wheel steady with his left hand. Flipping back his cell phone he see that it say “Nes, accept or decline.” Bryson flipped his cell phone back down and declined the call, still holding it in the palm of his hand while driving. Two seconds later, his cell phone rings again, he flips it back open and see its Vanessa calling him again, Bryson flips it back down and ends the call. Knowing Vanessa will continue to call back until he answers, Bryson begins to wonder what he is going to do now that he knows he has contracted an STD and that Vanessa is to blame of it. This new information only confuses his mind even more. |
