| Message | Just went around the place to look for a new writer. A thing I have noticed is how people use certain words and phrases. It is not how the individual writer uses them, but that a large part of some love stricken group uses the same. I think we should have a lost love category which censured words and phrases like:
Cold night
Dark night
Cold winter
Chilling
The cold finger of winter
Death of night
Clouds and suns in the same line
Etc.
Etc.
Or how about a love category which censured words and phrases like:
Soul mate
Blossom
Blooming garden
Eyes and seas
Cheeks and apples
Your lips are like something
Sunlit something
Rose
Soul have touched me
Your gentle touch
Deeply touched (hmm, how far south is that?)
Etc.
Etc.
Then as a supplement to these categories, we might add that when people say that they want to write on one of the subjects, the write only on that which they choose. By that I mean, that if you try to describe the loss of love, do not tell me what love is.
It might be a healthy exercise for those of us:
which cannot but love
that watery nymph
who lives in the opening
of a sunlit wood
Oh, fairest of spirits
who have so deeply touched my soul
(abracadabra)
let me reach out and grab you
before you turn into dust
and leaves me
with a smouldered heart
Best,
