| Message | I’ve been thinking about starting a writing group in my community. I need some advice on how I should go about getting people involved, and more importantly what to do to get the ball rolling. I’m really interested in meeting other writers in my area and I figured that a writing group would probably be my best bet. I’ve never been involved in a writing group but would really like to be. Any advice on the subject would be greatly appreciated.

| Message | we tried once at my highschool.. but first you need to find people that see as much need as you do. You may set yourself up for diseaster if their really is lack of interest. Second, you need to think, where will you hold meetings? If you were to make a weekend event out of it... you may need to tell the town about, and if you wish to make it a common meeting instead, and find yourself needing money, money is avaible for small groups and such for this kind of meetings in some towns..(mine at least, the library donates about 50 dollars to a group that uses its facility to promote the common good of reading, or for th community) Things to chew on |

| Message | i dont know what you would really do but first i would find a place to hold your writing groups. like a liabrary untill you can know how many people would be intorested. liabrarys offten have some rooms like confrence rooms for fgoops to work on projects and not totaly bother every one. then maybe you could make fliers and hang them at the grosery store on there message bord, on the library message bord and maybe put an add in the paper. i would also place a flyer at the community college near you.
just make sure you are prepared to be the boss because you are throwing it together. have a list of topics. i would have a diffrent topic each week and soforth. this is just some of my ideas that i came up with. if i was to get a group sstarted that is what i would do. lia |
