I am of Russian descent, if ethnicity interests anyone in particular. I am currently dating a fellow writer (his speciality is most typically essays and prose, though he is capable of some impressive poetry). Unfortunately, he isn’t a part of this site; but, perhaps, someday he could be. He’s of Polish descent and so our values are very parallel and, as such, he inspires me to read and write and constantly improve my work to impress him. My favorite poetry is usually classic. I am an avid fan of Edgar Allan Poe, particularly Al Aaraaf, The Pit and the Pendulum, and The Fall of the House of Usher. I also have an affinity for Czeslaw Milosz, a less classical and more post-modern Polish author who often wrote abstractly on the idea of the second world war. As far as fictional writers go, I am currently getting into an author called Elizabeth Kostova who has a very poetically enchanting style. In the area of music, I tend to listen to classical and tech. I don’t really know what to call E Nomine (they use choirs and Latin, and combine it with an ominous male voice and instruments), but they are one of my favorite ’groups’. I also like Aqualung, Via GRA, Tool, Coheed and Cambria, and almost anything else that strikes me as anything poetically written.
I have been writing for many, many years, since I was very young. My better work has been coming for the last four years, however, due to some life-changing events that have occured in that time that have, more or less, caused me to grow up. I plan to share my thoughts with this community and equally provide critique and support for the thoughts of others. |
