So, I'm playing a bit in the stock market and I've found that in my case I can get just as excited about tiny movements on the penny stocks which are relatively large in perspective (percentage wise) as an actually significant movement of 3% or so on a "real' stock. There's just something exciting about seeing a "12% jump!" even if that net gain will not actually buy so much as a cheap hamburger. It's the fantasy at work.

I've been told, and indeed it has been my experience, that rather soon the daily period during which daylight falls across this northern hemisphere will reach an ultimate brevity whereupon it will slowly but steadily increase to a maximum in about 6 months time. Consider if you will, the extended geometric functions required to accomplish this wonder upon any given latitude... or not.

I spent the morning moving our collection of vinyl records out of the office building and into the all purpose room where I set up a turntable to play some of those antiques. I hear they're back in fashion, scratches and all. A lot of ours might have been handled once or twice in their life so they should be in pretty good shape. Between our own and those left by my dad, I'd say we have something over 500 or so. Fortunately I also have three or four turntables to play them on.

Yes, it's Thor's Day yet again! Today is the day each week for which I remind my family members that Thursday is named for Thor. But it's also worthwhile to be aware of what each other day is named for. Apparently we're mostly Pagans at least in that respect. Even our Christian perceived holidays were stolen from their pagan predecessors. I'll drink to that.
