    Mood: The Usual

So I posted something. I'm not leaving it up for long. It's not very good and it doesn't have any direct meaning. I basically through together three different dreams I've had in the past few days.

I've woken up each night and written down the dream, so I guess you could say that what was submitted isn't exactly made up, but it also won't make any sense.

I'm going to put it into short story format eventually. It's not meant to be a poem or a song, but a compilation for now until I have time to mess with it.

The story is better than the 'poem' I wrote for it all.

I rarely log in here (as I'm sure you can tell). But I'm working hard at what I do and as I do it I'm working pretty hard at it. I have a Myspace, too, but you won't find much there, either. Link's at the top of the page.

    Rob out.

    Mood: The Usual

A cold and wet November dawn
and there are no barking sparrows
    just emptiness to dwell upon.

I fell into a winter slide
and ended up the kind of kid who goes down chutes too narrow
just eking out my measly pipe.

But I learned fast how to keep my head up 'cause I
know there is this side of me that
wants to grab the yoke from the pilot and just
fly the whole mess into the sea.

Another slow train to the coast
some brand new gory art from way on high
I sink and then I swim all night.

I watch the ice melt on the glass
while the eloquent young pilgrims pass
    and leave behind their trail
imploring us all not to fail.

Of course I was raised to gather courage from those
lofty tales so tried and true
if you're able, I'd suggest it 'cause this
modern thought can get the best of you.

This rather simple epitaph can save your hide, your falling mind
fate isn't what we're up against there's no design, no flaws to find
there's no design, no flaws to find.

But I learned fast how to keep my head up 'cause I
know I got this side of me that
wants to grab the yoke from the pilot and just
fly the whole mess into the sea.

Listen to the tales and romanticize, how we follow the path of the hero
Boast about the day when the rivers overrun, how we'd rise to the height of our halo
Listen to the tales as we all reationalize our way into the arms of the savior
Feigning all the trials and tribulations, none of us have actually been there
    Not like you

Ignorant figures in the congregation, gather around spewing sympathy... spare me
None of them could even hold a candle up to you, blinding by choices hypocrites... won't see
But, enough about the collective Judas
Who could deny, you're the one who illuminated your little peice of the divine

This little light of mine, a gift you passed on to me
I'm going to let it shine to guide you safely on your way...
    Your way home

What are they going to do when the lights go down, without you to guide them all to Zion?
What are they going to do when the rivers overrun, other then tremble incessantly?
High is the way, but our eyes are upon the ground
You were the light and they way, they only read about
I only pray Heaven knows when to urge you out...
10,000 days in the fire is long enough, you're going home

You're the only one who can hold your head up high, shake your fist at the gates saying:

"I have come home now. Fetch me the spirit, the son and the father. Tell them their pillar of faith has ascended. It's time now. My time now. Give me my, give me my wings!"

You are the light, the way that they will only read about

Set as I am in my ways and my arrogance
Burden of proof tossed upon non-believers
You were my witness, my eyes, my evidence
    Judith Marie, unconditional one

    Daylight dims leaving cold fluorescence
Difficult to see you in this light
    Please forgive this bold suggestion:
Should you see your maker's face tonight,
    Look him in the eye
Look him in the eye and tell him,

"I never lived a lie, never took a life but surely saved one. Hallelujah, it's time for you to bring me home."

I hope that our few remaing friends give up on trying to save us
I hope we come up with a fail-safe plot to piss off the dumb few that forgave us
I hope the fences we mended fall down beneath their own weight
and I hope we hang on past the last exit, I hope we're already too late

And I hope the junkyard a few blocks from here someday burns down
And I hope the rising black smoke carries me far away, and I never come back to this town again
    In my life
I hope I lie, and tell everyone you were a good wife
And I hope you die, I hope we both die

I hope I cut myself shaving tomorrow
I hope it bleeds all day long
Some say it's darkest before the sun rises, but we're pretty sure they're all wrong
I hope it stays dark forever
I hope the worst isn't over
And I hope you blink before I do
I hope I never get sober

And I hope when you think of me years down the line
You can't find one good thing to say
And I hope if I found the strength to walk out,
You'd stay the hell out of my way...

    I am drowning
    There's no sign of land
You are coming down with me
    Hand in unlovable hand
    And I hope you die
    I hope we both die

I think I need to accept something: no matter how far I move on, no matter how many memories I try to forget, you'll always have a piece of my heart. Not the whole thing, but a little piece reserved for everything that we were; everything we shared; everything we could've been, and everything we'll never be. Take care hun.

Just got back from Ozzfest in Charlotte, NC.

I didn't want to miss class, so we (my roommate and I) didn't leave Boone until 3pm; the show started at 9am.

I called before we left and found out that Black Label Society went on stage at 5:05pm. It's a two hour drive from so we should have (theoretically) arrived at the show just in time for Zakk, Nick and the gang to light the place up. Unfortunatley, I got a little side tracked on the drive, and we missed them by 15 minutes.

So, we caught the end of Shadows Fall, then Mudvayne came on stage. I enjoyed the show a little better in Osaka, Japan, simply because it was a small club show. They put out, as usual, and even my roommate enjoyed it immensely. He's more of a dead head kind of guy. For some reason though, at the end of the show, Chad threw his mic down, grabbed a towel to wipe off and walked away pissed off and shaking his head. I noticed his band was a little off on some songs, so that could have been it. I know he's been upset with Matt, his drummer, as of late.

Anyways though, my ninth time seeing the Vayne was well worth it. Next up was Velvet Revolver; the formation of the singer from Stone Temple Pilots, GnR members (including Slash: yes) and a couple other wannabes. I've never been a fan of VR, but I must say they put on one of my top ten personal concert experiences. I do not recommend their CDs, but I will give them my "live show approval."

Last up with the one and only: Black Sabbath. Dio has been the singer of the new Sabbath for years, but for 2005, Ozzy himself once again took the mic and put on an amazing show. His voice was shot, he was old but he still new had to throw down. He's so stoked be on stage and has an energy most people of his age just don't possess. He proclaimed his love for the crowd during every song, a smile never left his face and he was full of life. He admitted to his voice being shot but "fuck cancelling!"

After seeing Black Sabbath live, I have come to a realization: Anthony "Toni" Iommi very well may be my new God. Un-fucking-believable. I'm going to definately do my research on this guy, for I never really took to finding out much about him. I was more into Randy Rhodes as Ozzy's guitarist (Zakk Wylde later).

Tony Iommi personfies everything that is amazing about this genre of music. He gives meaning to "the lead guitarist."

It's a wonderful world of metal: you all should join us!

Be kind, take a few minutes to review the hard work of others <3
It means a lot to them, as it does to you.
