Journal: Dark Romeo -------------------------------------------Mood: Easily AmusedFor starters, my main disagreement was with your blaming the member base being inactive on the Webmaster.
JimmyR has no power over the members of his site who choose to read and not respond.
Secondly, I also stated that perhaps the lack of comments compared to views might be indicative of a problem in itself. Most members DO NOT read boring pieces, and as such, if you are seeing a huge number of views and not so many comments, it's like that your piece simply doesn't grab attention.
Thirdly, I never said ANYTHING that implied that I did not agree with you about the site being in a state of disrepair. You claiming I disagreed is an indicator that either you didn't bother to fully understand my comments, or you are incapable of doing so.
Finally, I find it hard to believe you find any degree of meaningful interaction in the debate forums, it seems you are absolutely void of the necessary skills for successful debating.
Elite Skills will be better off without you.
Making room for more individuals who, like myself, support the site through vigilance, and hope, and continual effort against the lethargy that plagues most of our members.
The best thing a person like yourself can do for the site is to shove off. And stay gone.

Journal: Dark Romeo89 -------------------------------------------Mood: Deeply AmusedThis is in response to member Dark Romeo89's attack on JimmyRuska, and insults directed not only at the webmaster, but at the site populace itself through his post: "EVERYONE MUST READ" which is a fairly plain title, good for catching attention but not much else.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
DR,
For starters, let me say that I've been a member of ES for just about as long as you have.
I've got tons of comments, and tons of reads.
The most important part of poetry is not to have people give you feedback about it. Imagine you are a novelist and have published a book. How many people read it? How many comment? Reality is no different than this website so far as that ratio is concerned.
You complain, most rudely, about the state of the site, about the lack of comments, and yet I would imagine that you do nothing to support it. I would also imagine that you take for granted the comments you do receive.
Your immaturity does not suit you in this instance.
If you did not have this site to post your works on, how many comments would you have? None? Think about that.
You're better off with a terrible ratio of views to comments than you are with neither.
Aside from that, I, personally, do not often leave comments on terrible poetry, or poetry that is tired, cliché, poorly written, or unemotional. For instance, some of your writings would not inspire me to comment.
Consider a lack of comments to be statements themselves, showing you that your poetry does not move those who read it, does not instill them with a desire to speak their mind.
And even then, the webmaster has NOTHING to do with the users and their frequency of response. He can control many things, but people are not one of them.
So suck it up, and think before you insult the webmaster nexttime.
~Keegan.
p.s. If you delete this, I will come back, I will do it again. So listen, or I will get louder, I will be heard....Created 2008-10-01 21:24:02 |
