    Mood: The Usual

    What if I told you

    there

    were monoliths of thought,

    freestanding leviathons --
    slowed movements crept and caught
    on a photo-rod; (Of sky

    Sky Blue

    Bushido-mind recalling what was writ
    above what scholars fobbed as truth.

    And if I told you
    this is provenless--
    provenless

    --as standing proof such things exist;

    would you baulk- as do the passers on the street,
    (denote this life as nondescript)

    quick flickered eyes for your accounting --

    Call down stone centuries I stood.
    Call down -- cold centuries would enfold you.

    We were monoliths,
    cold-won leviathans, you and I.

    *     *     *

    And if I told you
    of some recent

         lately,

    how lately: my palisades
    are crumbled in disarray --

    would you yet come to me;
    you would come to me (yes?)

    past tree and star and sun and brook --
    (cold centuries i stood.)

    *     *     *

    Swing once, in the slow     stilled
    frenzied arc
                             of thought.

    Swing once and the sky is denuded,
         while all about our feet there lay

         stone chaos slept

    and silence --

    impermanence and come what may,
    where, one time, love had only brooded.

    *     *     *

    And I wish that somehow
         you could have     believed this.

    Mood: The Usual

    You will wake as if from water.

                                  ---
    You will wake and bind yourself to me --
    and find I did not then, nor will I now,
    I did not deviate, or bend,
    I did not break -- nor stoop for daisies.
              These words are earth.

                                  ---
    You will wake as if from water.
